I figured that's who you were referring to when you were talking about roster changes.

Yeah, I was but I mean it as we should get rid of them any value that they provide can be had from rookies with a cheaper salary especially in Ellis case.

Maybe you should rewatch the games were proctor started.

Maybe you shouldn't be such a wise acre. My opinion is as valid as yours. There must be a reason why he's still with the team. If he was as bad as many here think it wouldn't be difficult to find someone to take his place. There has got to be a few centers out there.

Also read what I said. He's not starting material. Not right now. And he's not nearly as good as I'd like. But he doesn't completely suck either. It wouldn't hurt my feelings to see him replaced but I'll leave that up to the team to decide.

Should be lots of good battles:

WR: Austin/Crayton/Hurd fight for #2
Hurd/Ogletree/MJ/Stanback/TWilson fight for final spot

Yes I have Hurd on both lines because until last pre-season he had outperformed Austin at every turn and is one of the team's hardest workers. But his injury and 1 year deal means he is now expendable if he hits a wall.

OLB: Spencer/Ellis/BWill/VicHunter

We can talk about booting Ellis all die but it's Spencer who needs to step up. If your starting OLB is getting less 3 sacks per year he needs a new job or to be replaced. I am hopeful one or both the rookies step up then we could cut Ellis as well as dmeote Spencer back tp playing situationally. But that will be a tough task for these guys as rookies.

Nickel/Dime: We have CBs and we have our safeties. We need nickel and dime folks. Smith and Mickens look like great fits there. It will be interesting to see if Hamlin can crack that group. He is a big guy but made plays on the ball at Clemson.

OL Depth: This group can use some changes. We can not afford to have a titanic drop-off if the 5th best starter goes out like we did last year. We also need to identify a true 3rd OT.

If you say so.

I suppose we're just supposed to believe that there was not one LG in the entire world to replace such a POS like Proctor. Or that the entire Dallas organization is so stupid they not only can't find a replacement that's better than someone who gets beat every play but they're just too stupid to even know he sucks as much as you bleat on and on about. They don't even know he's a problem.

Quick send them a fax.

I think the only thing that saved Proctor is the fact he backs up at guard and center

That and Holland is not as good as we think or just couldn't make the adjustment in time.

I don't think they want to stand pat on Proctor. He's too light in the arse. But they seem to be having a problem finding a replacement. Perhaps Brewster will push him at guard and we'll find another center in the other interior linemen.

I could be mistaken but my take on Holland was he came in out of shape which played a role in him not seeing playing time. As for Proctor it is easier to say cut a guy but when he is providing backup at 2 spots it becomes a bit harder. I do hope the competition brings about better alternatives for Dallas or somehow some way Proctor shows vast improvements through his off season work.

Have to agree with the other posters, Hurd not a lock. He is a pedestrian journeyman wideout with a low ceiling. If Stanback stays healthy he makes the team because he can also play special teams and take snaps in the wildcat. Also Jerry does like him alot. I think the guy they are pulling for is Ogletree based on what I read. If healthy he has game breaking speed.:star:
i think hurd is a lock because he's the only 4th wr that can actually play.

if crayton/austin gets hurt, hurd can fill in as the 3rd wr.

stanback/ogletree/johnson can't. maybe one of them becomes colston, but barring that you need to keep hurd.

won't happen. Wade already said Spencer will start but since he's shown very little you have to keep Ellis. Ellis is also good for 3rd down/nickel situations. Carp ain't going anywhere cause behind James and Brooking there is only Carp, Williams and a former safety learning a new position in Hodge.

I think I go with Williams and Hodge as the back-ups, Carp has been here 3 years and has shown nothing. His teammates call him Barbie, to me that says alot about his man hood. He's a weak football player and needs to go.

Carp/Watkins/Brown - can all go tomorrow for all I care, none have shown anything for the amount of time they have been here.

I think theyre gonna move D. Smith to FS, so he'll probably be battling with Courtney Brown and/or Pat Watkins.

We'll see Smith on the field come September, then.

Procter is our only back up center, he's not going anywhere till we find a replacement, aside from that he's our 4rth or 5th guard now.

I hated Ball from the very beginning but he won me over the last few times he got on the field and more importantly the coaches see something in him. He's our 4rth corner and I doubt he's going anywhere. Perhaps a rook or two might push him somewhere between 4 to 6 but I'm not sure Wade will do that just yet given his track record with rookie playing time.

Ellis might be a cap casualty ($4-$6mill worth.) I really hope Spencer gets the nod and I especially hope we see the guy we miss (Before his injury.)

Hurd lands somewhere between #4-6 spot as wr plus he's good in special teams. The guy almost always makes plays. I doubt he goes anywhere unless he becomes another cap casualty ($1-$2 mill worth.)

My least favorite players are Brown and Deer in head lights Patrick Watcan'ts. I see Brown getting cut but not sure about Patrick since he occasionally makes a play on the kick off, hopefully he becomes another cap casualty. Hooray for the rookies.

This is quite possibly Barbie's last year. I believe he will finally get some playing time but my guess is that a rookie will beat him out toward mid-late season.

I agree. Barbie spends more time going on shows and making music videos then playing on the field.

I'm excited to see how our LB situation pans out. I'm more interested to see how far Barbie slides down the depth chart.
