....its always great seeing this. Gotta remember though, no pressure up front. That changes everything.

Line of sight, WR pattern disruption, pressure from mid or sides etc.

Key part to take from this:

It happened IN PRACTICE. And for what it's worth, I would say the same thing about interceptions thrown in practice.

Wake us up when he can do this in a real game. You know, like when the defense is actually trying to make a play?

If only he could play that way WITH PRESSURE.

This is like posting Shaq made 10 free throws in a row...in an empty gym.
Doesnt dak have one of if not the highest completion percentage for passing when facing pressure?
Do you people do any research before posting?

LOL.....

Dak could throw 50 TD passes tomorrow, and guess what - it still happened IN PRACTICE. Who cares? Well, I already know a few names of people who do care about stats in practice, but the rest of us, all of us reasonable people with common sense, don't care. Why? It's practice.

Show this to us during the games. Show it to us when the bright lights of the post season are turned on.

For people who say practice shouldn't count....Brock Purdy thru 4 picks in a string of 8 passes and 2 of those were dropped. So it's really 6 picks in 8 passes.

Maybe that shows the difference between the Cowboys defense and 49ers', I suppose.

Well, it may be showing the difference between Dak and Purdy.

So what? It's practice. If Dak throws 8 picks today in practice - so what to him too. It's practice.

They award some "pressures" on plays that weren't impacted at all. It's very subjective .... like a lot of the definitions so they can generate more stats.

Quarterback pressure in football is a pass-rush play where a defender affects the quarterback before the pass is thrown. A pressure is awarded when the probability of pressure is greater than 75%. This can include sacks, QB hits, and QB hurries.

Some ways to determine quarterback pressure include:

  • Defender proximity: How close the defender is to the quarterback

  • Blocker engagement: Whether the defender is engaged with blockers
  • Player influence: A model that considers each player's speed, direction, distance from the quarterback, and x and y coordinates
