Yes, good call. I believe even quincy was Offensive player of the week once or twice.

He was god awful though. JC is the spitting image of Quincy. Have a decent game or throw now and then, but by and large, he just didn't have "it".

And who is #1? Why Dallas of course, by nearly two yards per catch. :D

At any rate, YPA gives better picture of a team's passing game, which your team is 9th in NFL, above average.

I still believe Campbell is just a bus driver, evidenced by rated 28th in passing attempts and completions.

What's funny is that tools in ES constantly state that Romo is nothing more than dink and donk QB when he leads in NFL in YPC and YPA.

You will never see me state that Romo is a dink and dunk passer, I have given Romo props numerous times, he is definitly the real deal. To be honest I was skeptical about Campbell coming into the season; however, he has shown me a lot this year with an injured recieving group that was thin to begin with. To say Campbell is not improving and turning into a good qb would be flat out wrong.

it's only a matter of time before teams take away that deep pass by going to zone, and make Jason beat them by completing passes in the middle of the field

that was Quincy's downfall

Like Detroit tried to do? Not saying this is some marvelous accomplishment considering their defense isnt exactly stellar, but that is precisely what Detroit tried to do and Campbell managed to complete almost 80% of his passes.

It seems lately Campbell is seeing all of his recievers as opposed to locking onto one guy, I think this is due to him beginning to fully understand Saunders system. Remember, he had 7 different offensive coordinators in 7 years dating back to his senior year in highschool, not exactly time to really settle into an offense. I believe with this continuity he will be able to continue to improve seeing all his recievers like he did against Detroit and make those passes that you say he isn't able to make.

I think you're wrong, Campbell absolutely has "it". The guy is one of the most poised quarterbacks I have ever seen given his age and inexperience in the NFL. He has a short memory after making a mistake and he is ALWAYS calm and cool in the pocket.

243 yards and 2 TDs

that's ok

good that he completed 79% of his passes, but his numbers don't jump off the page, like SB said, it was more of the other better QBs being off than Campbell being great

Must not have been too many good performances by running backs or receivers, either...

Well, going into last weekend's game, his quarterback rating was actually lower than it was last year... that doesn't sound like improvement to me...

So, does one fairly good game, against a helpless pass defense, really tell us that Campbell is "turning into a good qb"??

Not to me, it doesn't... mind you, I'm not saying categorically that he won't, just that he really hasn't given us much to believe that he will, either... unless, I guess, you're a Skins fan desperate to believe... :D

I will give credit to you Skins fans who have weighed in on this thread, though, you have been somewhat more realistic about all this than I'm used to when arguing with Skins fans...

Which means most of y'all have probably gotten a temp ban over at ES at least once or twice... they don't seem to go in much for reality over there, LOL...

You have a real flair for understatement, my man... the Lions' pass defense is in fact HELPLESS...

Example-- Donny McFlabb torched that defense for 381 yards and 56 points, completing 21 of 26 (an even higher completion percentage than Jason put up), and 4 TDs... that works out to a quarterback rating of 158.3...

But in all of his other games this season combined, McNabb has the following stats line:

58 completions, 110 attempts, 562 yards... 1 TD, 1 int... 66.6 quarterback rating, 52.7 per cent completions... 187.3 yards per game passing...

Think about that, he's averaged 187 yards a game in every game but the Lions game, where he threw for 381... he's thrown ONE TD pass in those other three games, had 4 against the Lions... he completed 80.8 per cent of his passes against the Lions, 52.7 per cent against all of his other opponents...

You starting to get the picture about how profoundly pathetic the Lions' pass defense is?? Even mediocre quarterbacks put up big numbers against them...

It seems lately Campbell is seeing all of his recievers as opposed to locking onto one guy,

I dunno, man, 4 receivers have caught nearly 3/4 of his completions (73.13%, 49 of 67)... his top 6 have combined to catch over 90 per cent of his passes... I'd suggest if Moss was fully healthy, that distribution would be even more top-heavy...

I believe with this continuity he will be able to continue to improve seeing all his recievers like he did against Detroit and make those passes that you say he isn't able to make.

Fortunately for you Skins fans, he won't face a good (or even decent, really) pass defense but once in the next 5 games, 3 weeks from now when you guys go up to Foxboro to play the Pats (6th ranked pass defense in the league)... the Pack ranks 23rd, the Cards rank 18th, the Jets rank 25th and the Iggles rank 21st... in fact, you guys only play 4 more games against teams currently ranked in the top 12 in pass defense-- the Cowboys twice, the Bucs and the Pats...

Then again, y'all have only played one team inside the top 20 in pass defense so far, the 3rd ranked Dolphins, and Campbell put up a 51.7 quarterback rating against them... your other 3 opponents have ranked 21st, 20th and 29th...

I'm really looking forward to seeing what Romo does to that Lions pass defense on December 9th...

Yep they suck. They did force 4 TO's on McCown, intercepted Tavaris Jackson 4 times, and took the ball from Greise 4 times as well. Not that those guys are even mediocre...

Great news.

I'm more looking forward to Nov 18th. This time, Romo's not going to be able to throw to whatever direction Adam Archuletta is standing around. :)

I disagree. What has he done that shows he has "it". He is PAINFULLY average at best.

Has he ever put his team on his shoulders and willed them to a win? He's a 50% passer. Can't make a short pass to save his life.

He does throw a very nice out pattern though, I'll give him that. But look at his recievers, he VERY rarely throws to recievers on the move. They are always at dead stops when they get the ball. What does that tell you?

Do me a favor and watch how many recievers are stopped when the catch the ball and how many are actually on the move.

The coaches don't trust him, simple as that. If they did, they would have the qb throw to recievers on the move.

So, 250 yards passing and 2 TDs wins you Offensive Player of the Week, eh??

Seems like pretty mediocre numbers to me, must have been a slow week for offensive play in the NFC... and to think, that was Campbell's most productive game as a pro...

Yeah, JC really looked awful...you're the type of guy who would complain about the tax hit after winning the lottery! Unbelievable.

Watch the games. JC will be regarded as a top 10 QB by the end of the year.

I disagree with many of my fellow cowboys fans in the idea that they say Campbell is not improving.

I think he has improved. I credit that with him getting exp, the coaching staff putting a good game plan in for his strengths and also the defense of the Commanders doing much better this year.

However with all of that said...I am not going to go so far as call him a top 10 QB right now nor do I see him being one at the end of the year.

I'm looking forward to that game, too... can't wait to see our offensive line manhandle your defensive line...

I just hope y'all have some of your offensive line still standing upright, LOL...

I didn't say he looked awful, hoss, it was by FAR his best game as a pro... I just said that 99 weeks out of 100, that kind of stats line will not win you NFC Offensive Player of the Week...

And of course, looking good against the Lions' secondary isn't that tough to do...

At this point, he's not even a top 15 QB, even after that game against the Lions... before that game, he wasn't a top 20 QB statistically...

I'll repeat, getting over on the Lions' secondary is almost mandatory for any semi-respectable QB in the NFL...

Painfully? Heh. You enthusiasm is noted. Although your accuracy is a little off.

Can't make a short pass to save his life.

This is hyperbole at it's worst. In every single game he's made short passes. How can other Cowboys fans in this very thread say he's a "dink and donk" passer and then you say he can't make a short pass? Sure. Last week, on ARE's last play he hit him in stride on the quick slant. Guess that blows up two of your theories about him not being able to 1) throw an accurate short pass and 2) hit a reciever in stride. Both of which he was even doing in pre-season.

He does throw a very nice out pattern though, I'll give him that. But look at his recievers, he VERY rarely throws to recievers on the move. They are always at dead stops when they get the ball. What does that tell you?

It tells me you haven't been watching too many games. I have game this seaosn tivo'd, and I've seen him hit recievers in stride and fit the ball in areas where only the reciever can catch it.

The coaches don't trust him, simple as that. If they did, they would have the qb throw to recievers on the move.

These are the same coaches who didn't trust Ladell Betts or Rocky McIntosh last season and look what happened when those coaches were forced to use them due to injury. Just because they don't trust him completely doesn't mean he isn't capable.

He currently ranks 21st in total yards

17th in completion percentage (while having one of the lowest yards per attempt ratings) :laugh2:

21st in total yards

17th in touchdowns

17th in qb rating

So he either ranks 21st or 17th in EVERY MAJOR CATEGORY.

What exactly do you see here that makes you think he will end up in the top 10??? Its insane dude. Take your homer glasses off

JC is painfully average.

Oh, and sorry, they don't rank "poise in the pocket", whatever the hell that means.

Don't be silly.

I really don't want to put up comparison stats to embarrass Campbell so I'll just go with this:

Romo >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Campbell
