Urlacher also played WR and Punt Returner in College. He was only 190 lbs when he came to UNM. He pretty much grew into LB.

A better comparison for Carpenter would probably be Briggs abut again, you have the issue of Briggs playing in a 43 as opposed to Carpenter in a 34. However, the strengths of these players are simular IMO.
