I was wondering in a pinch can he kick inside if Ron goes down or if he out plays Ron in camp

Yes.

Chaz Green
Arm: 33-3/8"
Hand: 10-7/8"
Height: 6045
Weight: 314

40 Yrd Dash: 5.16
20 Yrd Dash: 2.97
10 Yrd Dash: 1.78
225 Lb. Bench Reps: 21
Vertical Jump: 29 1/2
Broad Jump: 08'10"
20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.70
3-Cone Drill: 8.00

Bench press seems a little low, but I think that was one of the knocks on him. I think Mayock mentioned some teams though he could kick to the center postion.

yes.i thought that was interesting.I imagine he will get a shot at Center and guard in TC but we need him at Tackle.

I betcha he starts at both T positions as the swing, but then we try him out at OG at some point to test his 'position flex.' Really, we're going to get a read on whether we think he can be a LG because I don't think we want to give Leary a big deal with his knee condition, and his play and his age is going to warrant a fairly big deal.

This pick is looking better and better. Can play all five positions on Sunday when most teams suit up 7.
Freshman all American, he's got it in him to be a five year starter if he gets stronger, which is just effort

On The Ticket last night, one guy even mentioned he could play C. So a guy at all 5 OL positions in the 3rd, fills a need for depth. Though more for the future as a possible starter.
I feel still a bit of a reach, but that is not based on anything but myself, wanting a RB and DT before an OL....unless the OL was the BPA. In which according to Stephen Jones, Chaz Green was rated highest on their board at the time.

I am not a draft guru or expert...heck, I am not even an internet expert or internet GM or internet coach. So I won't whine that things didn't go my way........but I sure will support what they did this off season and in the draft.
And just think of all the doom and gloom some had 2 days into FA.....:D

My favorite part is that he is really smart, my least favorite is that I think we could have gotten him much later, but if he is good, it won't matter

I love it that the team keeps investing in young talent for the line. It will keep the running game strong and facilitate the transition from Romo to his replacement.

If they had traded down 6 spots and drafted him early 4th, far fewer people would call it a reach.

I had him as a 4th, but the Cowboys pick in the 3rd is very close to a 4th.

Yep.

His injuries and functional strength is what dropped his grade.

Injuries are always an iffy thing.

The functional strength part-- well I think the Cowboys will be dealing with that in short order. Let's see what the kid can accomplish over the next 3 months.

Yup, Petty will appreciate that

We took a swing tackle that could play guard. Do you consider double dipping on the line and picking up La'el Collins tomorrow?

Yes! Pick up Collins and try to get creative with his contract to convince him to stay. Kick Free inside and have Green spend the year getting stronger and learning all the positions. Green would be the swing tackle and Leary the primary backup at both guard positions. Imagine a line of:

Smith.....Free.....Fredericks.....Martin.....Collins (Green and Leary as the primary backups)

Or we can flip the Collins pick for a future first rounder if he is cleared of all wrong doing and keep Free and Leary where they are.

He said he won't sign if drafted pass 3rd. Best bet is to try him as an udfa and offer him 3 rd round money with language to protect yourself.
