Is it me or am I missing something?

Should I believe practicing and playing along side a scrappy talented vet like Scandrick will not in any way benefit the rooks. Come on get real. Scandrick will be an invaluable teacher which will help in the development.

Are you saying we should dump all our veteran role players because we have no shot of a Super Bowl this year. (By what evaluation makes you so certain of this preconceived notion)

Besides its the journey thats exciting not the destination. Those 3 trophies in the 70s were nice, but I witnessed and remembered the 90s. Thats more real to me .

Go ahead drop Witten Texans may pick him up ( And win a superbowl)
Go ahead drop Scandrick Patriots may add him (And win a super bowl)
But its all good Cowboys werent going to the big show this year.

PS. Let us know which year exactly we are going to the Super Bowl. That way Jerry and Co wont have to get rid of all the VETERAN ROLE PLAYERS

Not at all. Im not really saying dump, first i was asking a question that not many wanted or could answer. You at least attempted something. What i am saying is play the players. Does that mean they have to start, yes and no if you believe they will be a starter, start them, that doesnt mean they have to play the whole game, nor does it mean they arent going to make mistakes It does mean however, certain players know they are going to get replaced and they can either make the tranistion smooth, or take it for what it is. at this junction, its not going to make a difference, eitehr way the next player is going to get that shot and this is a great year to do it. Why? scandrick isnt going to intercept us to a winning record or even the play offs. hes a good player for disruptinga play, but if the FO really beleives in their draft, make sure the player gets ample time, or start a game or two. Whats it going to hurt?

Id start the safeties right now, unless a vet can really make a statement. Am i sold on Heath no, but if he doesnt convince by the end of the pre season, let the rookie play. If heath can, great, but Heath is still young enough. Does Scandrick really need to start? Was his injury last year that much of a difference? It can be debated, but im not wasting energy on it.

I would agree with you, and you are right, if this was yesteryear, but in the era of parity, do you think its worth a shot?

In football, every year is worth a shot, parity is actually the reason why it is. As long as Bron is healthy, the Cavs are going to be in the title chase. Think about how many players we have that could get hurt (just one of them) and take us out of a title chase.....several....cause its football.

The Pats got a ring, and look at all the moves they have made. The NFL is a year to year sport, and every year is different. Look at the Panthers just last year, you just have to go for it every year like its your last cause you might never get a chance again.

Cant argue that. Good point. I just personally dont believe teh Cowboys will get another chance tthis year, like they did last year, unless two of our divsion rivals falter, which could happen, i personally wouldnt bet on it, but it has happened.

Thanks for the chat.

My only problem when someone is said to have an endless motor and will not be outworked.

I remember a certain DL that Marrinelli loved for that reason. He was also a complete zero in production on the field.

sure, because umm, after 20 plus years, we are Sb bound already LOL. I mean is it sooooo out of the realm of reality for a organization to tell teh fans, "we beleive in this, this is what we drafted and we believe in it. its not happening this year, lets face it, we have had better teams than we have right now and they couldnt do it. Ok, thats fair, but we believe in this, we believe in our draft and our plan. We arent making teh Sb this year, we all know that, but , you give us one year, one year and we ll change how you see the Dallas Cowboys"

Ok, to be fair to you, you might need to hear "we are SB bound, we are the best ever" i get it, maybe you dont fully understand or maybe you jsut need to hear it. But if the past 20 years have not shown you anything (depending on when you became a fan) this year is NOT shocking anyone except those that need to hear "we are SB bound, we are the best ever, we are going to rule the NFC East" you might need to hear it because well, you just havent learned yet.

I have learned and i understand after watching this organization for many years, notice i dindt say team.

Ok, so now im going to shock you with my big brain. Dallas isnt doing it this year. I know I know, you ll be on the ledge, maybe crying into your phone to your buds down at the malt shoppe. I get it. but believe me, its not going to shock anyone whos been a cowboys fans for a long time.

That said. IF the tema believes in this, and i hope they do, i really do, Play everyone, play them this year and get them ready for next year. What is so wrong iwth that, you have had 20 plus years of medocirty to pure crap. What, do you really need someone to hold your hand and lie to you? Its ok, they are going to be SB champs this year. Ok now back to reality. PLay the damned rookies and put forth everything into next year. This year is over. its been over for 20 plus years, if you didint realize that, maybe find another team.

There is a difference between playing to win, and your version of tanking. Hell, take the Cleveland route, trade everyone for draft picks and then trade those picks for future picks.

No one is arguing "we are SB bound". But you are arguing "tank this year for next". The eternal cry of losers.

no, i did not say that. if we win games great, if we dont, fine, but since we arent going to the SB, what point does it make to holding some of these guys back when you can play them with no pressure? just a simple question.

You are arguing the team play individuals who are not starters, in place of starters for the 2017 season.

That is text book definition of tanking, whether you accept the label or not.

again, we arent going anywhere. we arent going to get a parade, medals, trophys, nothing. Call it tanking, call it fishing, call it whatever, i call it another block to the 20 plus years of drought, but this is the first time in a long time the Cowboys have a good plan. So instead of acting like we are going anywhere this year, play the new players, win, lose, whatever, let the chips fall where they may.

Its not a deliberate tank, but lets face it, 0-16 and 8-8 and 13-3 and 1 play off loss, all the same thing.

Am i saying wow dont coach them to win, or dont help them to win, or dont even try. But put your foundation into this season, let the players mature, find out waht you have, strenghts , weakness, whatever information you get out of it, than use the offseason to tweak for a better next season.

If they play to win and get nothing out of it, what purpose does that serve? Id rather see what the new guys have, work on a good foundation, teach them what they need to learn, no big pressure, and concentrate on their new jobs in a new system and build from the ground floor.
