I believe he will be an adequate replacement for Ro the first month of the season. Not too worried about the LBers as long as Lee is healthy.

There'll be several LBs in the running to see which of them replaces Rolando in the lineup for four games. It should prove interesting to see which one of them gets the nod to start the season at MLB. They're all good.

My belief is that as long as he doesn't practice with the team in training camp, he's eligible for PUP and then ultimately IR.

It will be interesting to see what happens.

The Patriots have been known to push the boundaries on putting players on PUP/IR.

It seems that the Cowboys are more willing to do it in recent years. They knew from the beginning that Whaley would go in IR for the year.

The way you guys are describing this guy it almost sounds like a Bradie James type of player, best suited for short yardage goal line situations but possibly a liability in pass coverage...

About what you'd expect about a 30 year old journeyman LB who has had 0 interceptions in his career and averaged less than 1 passes defensed per season?

He is on the team for depth.
