Good post ! I don't think many would disagree with your accessment, I know I don't there is always room for improvement and Al Johnson's build certainly looks as if he can use more muscle especially in his upper body.
And while I can't answer for the person your post was to, I can tell you why I take exception to a lot of the posts concerning Johnson. Like you stated the thread started out asking the question if Al Johnson could get stronger, and I would say absolutely and as you said AJ would probably agree.
But it soon became the same old bash fest with the same old phrases like "manhandled" and "pushed around" or "spends more time in the backfield than Julius". Those accusations simply are not true and to anyone willing to invest a hour of their time to even watch the game tape it is clearly documented that Al Johnson is rarely pushed around and has been making several key contributions every game.
As I said before I had not heard of Al Johnson before we drafted him and I have nothing except performance against Gurode. I believe in giving credit were credit is due and Johnson is proving every game he is capable of being a starting center in the NFL. The proof is on record and available to any fan with a computer, which I assume everyone here has. For reasons unknown some fans here try to paint a portrait of Johnson which is demonstratively untrue, I simply think its unfair and somewhat dishonest to continue and claim substandard play without showing some proof of those claims.
If Al Johnson is playing as poorly as some are claiming then show me the proof and I will gladly post my corrections, if you haven't first hand knowledge and proof that Al Johnsons is getting "manhandled" then why repeat those allegations. I'm a Cowboy fan first and foremost and I want the best players on the field regardless and even when a player isn't one of my personal favorites I'll still give them credit for solid play. I'm basicly neutral about Al Johnson but the fact is he is playing solidly and making key contributions every game and it is upsetting when he isn't receiving any credit for his effort.
