With holes in many other positions I don’t know that our front office would prioritize a high draft pick on a 3rd WR. WR have one of the highest bust rates in the first round. I would think we are just as in need at positions like CB or Center.
they might, given that Cooper contract may end up being a two year deal...so you don't wait. you prepare. plus gallup if he has another great year, is going to want a contract. he is a 3rd rounder and after next year would be eligible for FA....

but in someways I agree with you, I think we should go defense, defense, defense, defense and try and find a WR in lower rounds. we need safety, CB, DT, another LB ahead of getting a WR.

So you remeber those lil details. What about the game winning touchdowns. Key redzone grabs. Clutch catches. Clutch jump ball grabs. Clutch blocking. Clutch energy. Fighting for extra yards after the catch. Cowboys all time TD leader. Clutch competitiveness (btw this team lacks THAT guy). Lol dont be one sided my guy
I remember all that. It's just highly unlikely that he is that guy anymore.

Dez got riden out of town? That is revising history.

If he could still play, he would be on a roster today.
Yeah..

I just honestly believe he will be back.

Others disagree..no prob.

What makes me chuckle is even after almost 2 years being away..

he still is trying and it seems to threaten people to no end.

It's like them stabbing Ceasar in the Senate and he won't die. Stab him again.

He won't die. I find this just hysterical.

Everybody wants him to die.

So I do a Marc Anthony speech about Dez..

and the populus listens and look at each other and what do they do?

They freakout and go stab the body again.

Then they stab the messenger..me.

So I take in stride. I wear a bullet proof vest. I say what I think, patiently wrestle until the bell..

then go to my corner until the next round.

I am no troll. Just a passionate fan with a tablet.

Ain't no big thing.

Rumors are swirling Dez might be coming back to Dallas.

While that seems unlikely, lightning can strike twice in the same place.

What I recall were mis-adventures one after the other punctuated by killer games an dropped passes.

What I remember about Dez was him thinking he messed his knee up one time so bad he missed his doctor appt. and a dragnet was sent out to find him.

Turned out to be nothing. He was just afraid his career was over. No big deal. He should just suck it up.

What I remember was him dropping some passes after he came back too soon after 3 weeks out.

I remember him ranting on the sidelines about them losing and him wanting the ball.

I remember him leading our team all time in catches, yards and TDs until Witten later broke the records after 16 years playing..

only it took Dez 8 seasons to make the records.

You do the math and tell me which was the better player.

I remember him lashing out at players, coaches and owners about being cut without so much as a suggesting he stay and take a pay cut or reduction in his play involvement.

This was hugely a mistake. Beasley complained even worst and they still wanted him back but Beasley said. "No way".

I think Beasley and Dez were correct. Garrett and the other coaches are gone. Witten is gone.

You Dez haters can remain where you are. But anybody with any intelligence can see Garrett was a failure, Jerrah was an idiot to keep him, Witten was jealous of Dez and how Jerrah spoiled Dez..

and Dez got riden out of town on a rail.

Some would like us to believe Dez did something to disgrace the team. Hardly.

Dez can still play. We will all see him again.

How I am not sure or where.

I hope he plays here where he was a legend.

As a kid I read many books about Cowboys who fell out of grace who later redeemed themselves and became heroes again

Hello?

That's all fine but in NFL years that was a long time ago. I'm all for having competition, and would not object, but keep an eye to the future, not the past.

But we don't know.

People act like the had an amputated leg.

It will and does heal.

Dez never was fast. I watch his video and I really think its remarkable what he has done.

He could teach others how to rehab.

Imagine.

There should be enough depth in the WR market that a round one pick there wouldn't be necessary. Many scouts and those familiar with what the WRs are in the upcoming draft believe that even a third round pick could potentially bag an exceptional WR in the upcoming draft. The Cowboys are fairly unpredictable before their turn comes up, so I'm not too inclined to assume anything until their picks are already in. Anything can happen.

So who is going to throw to him? Do tell.
I saw Dak throw it in the message posted.

Let's play Jeopardy.

Answer in the form of a question..

What QB will throw the Ball to Dez? The answer must begin with a capital D and end with a K and the answer must be one of the 50 United states...

Your answer?

Do do do do do do do..

?

:lmao:

Dez Bryant's time with Dallas has come and gone. The NFL draft to come will be one that will assuredly be dotted with superior WRs within the first three rounds. This isn't simply a statement that is being made by myself, alone, but by scores of others who are familiar with the current NFL talent at that rich position. The Cowboys and many other teams, should be inclined to lean to such talent first, before Dez is welcomed back.

Think you nailed it here......I think this whole Dez-back-to-the-Cowboys thing is being blown out proportion, by Dez. Remember prior to last year, Jerry and Stephen had consistently said he WOULD NOT be returning. Pretty sure that was coz of Garrett and/or Marinelli. In other words, the door was shut. In comes MM and suddenly Stephen cracks the door open a bit with bit being the keyword. I think Dez wants it so bad he's reading too much into Stephen's statement. My guess, MM told Stephen he believe Dez could still play and he had no problem with him being on the team under certain conditions. Just me but I think it will take a major injury to Cooper or Gallup for them to bring back.

Hmm..

When you site sources like Jerrah and Stephen say these things about thinking Dez might return..

you should take it as real. Now we have Dak saying similar things.

The Jones are alot of things but disingenuous is not one of them.

If you really look, you can read them like a book.

Whatever the circumstances, this is real.

The Draft is the clincher. If some great receiver drops and Dallas takes him..God bless us.

Really possible and none of us should be upset..

but if not and Dez as our wildcard makes total sense too.

I personally think he will be picked up by another team sometime this year. With the cowboys...I doubt it.

I do see him as a better jump ball specialist in the redzone then cooper or gallup. Cooper is a side line catching freak

Maybe in your recent psychosis, but in reality no one is threatened by Dez Bryant making an attempt to come back.
Including the neighborhood kids covering him in his videos. Most reasonable fans understand. What's kind of sad is that those lobbying for his return seem to have forgotten how things were when he was on a roster.

Dez is an alpha throughout........he believes he can still ball at a high level. Now Coop and Gallup as your starter, who's your slot? Not Dez, meaning he's likely your 4th WR seeing only a few snaps per game. How long you think it will take before he's in his position coach ear about more snaps. Even more, what kind of teammate/player will he be during the week knowing he's a non-factor. This is why I said the best situation to sign him is replacing one of our injured starters.

Ok.

I just do not agree with some who say we have all the talent we need and why mess with Dez.

We mess with Dez because we just do not have alot of leadership on the team.

Witten just left. Dak is having trouble with his contract and his leadership genes are being exposed as being really me-first genes.

Dez maybe buggy. And Dez V 1.0 had issues but Dez V 2.0 could be the version we can use being down a possession TE with Witten leaving and Jarwin still untested.

Dak will need help..draft a WR but

Dez.

Some players are natural leaders. They lead by example ON and OFF the field. They lead whether or not the ball is in their hand. No one ever questions Dez desire to win but I read many times coaches had issues with him doing the little things and taking the classroom seriously during the week. Remember reading a tweet from a beat writer who told Dez spent most of his classroom/game prep time on his cellphone. Think about it, as popular as he appeared to be with teammates, they never voted him captain. Pretty sure coz they saw/knew things about his game/preparation........other words, he's a high maintenance player.

Oh sure.

I have heard the word Diva also with Dez.

But I just have a sneaking suspicion that Dez has moved on from that.

Call me optimistic but losing your $14mil/yr job will sober you up.

After you came down from your 2 week drunk.
