... (Didn't Moore have the #1 offense last Season!?!...) Moore checks out of obvious plays sometimes, IMO he's only trying to trick the opposing team...When it works he "an utter genius!"...But when it flops, then "He takes the heat from fans that He never informed of His reasons or intentions in the first place!"..SMH!

Speaking of MM I learned today Brian Schottenheimer is on this staff ? Say this about DQ MM JJ this is a solid group of assistants assembled in the room . For each one of these veteran coaches and of course the players would love to see them get a ring .

At least Big Mike doesn't force his playbook onto this offense like what Garrett did. He lets his assistants do their job.

MM should not have accepted the job then. He was not in the midst of bankruptcy or an ugly divorce. He wasn't broke. His inheriting Kellen was part of his hiring. Not forced. No one put a gun to his head to take the job.

What could Jerry actually do in the middle of an important game if McCarthy actually showed some balls and took over the playcalling?

McCarthy's first priority should be to what's best for HIS team and not cashing his retirement portfolio checks.

IF that means ruffling feathers with ownership, then at least at the end of the day he showed some integrity and backbone in standing up for what he thought was right.

Not this current walk around yes man puppet role he's playing.

He should grow a pair and if fired for that, so be it.

The point here is that the stipulations for employment were that McCarthy be hands off the offense and that Moore was the OC. You want him to buck the ask but at the end of the day he was asked by the owner and his boss to operate in this dysfunction that the owner created and that is what he is doing. Personally I think McCarthy is playing this right. Let Moore hang by his own hand

this is what an ex-cowboy player said in dec 2019:

"I've lived this. ... They hired Jason Garrett as the OC before hiring the head coach, Wade Phillips. The players didn't know who to listen to — Jason Garrett, Wade Phillips or Jerry Jones. That's the problem with the 2019 Dallas Cowboys." — @ChrisCanty99

and now …

“If this season doesn’t end the way Jerry thinks it should, don’t be surprised if Kellen Moore is their next head coach much sooner than later,” one source told CBS Sports. “He does not want to lose him.” cbs sports jan 2022
Oh great another wasted 10 years.

I see your point as to removing himself from the blame of the offense's failings. I have a hard time understanding what would still be his end game motivation to accept this type of role as a head coach?

Are you saying that McCarthy is showing Jerry by not interfering that the kid is in over his head and needs help?
And that he is waiting for Jerry to personally tell him to take over playcalling?

I mean,
maybe I guess.

I agree with the majority of your posts bro it's just every time this odd victim mentality of McCarthy's being saddled with Moore is mentioned as though McCarthy had no options, then I usually respond.

I mean, why take the job?
McCarthy is not a victim here.

He could just as easily said no to the job.
That's my point.

His motivation might be as simple as do your job and get paid. The owner created this mess and it’s all on the owner if it fails

That was my thinking all along.
The money while not having to do much puppet role.

Falls in line with all the rest of the post Parcells HC hires.

he could have said no to 6-8 mil a year lol, but he didnt, and even I would be puppet HC for that kind of money. Most here would too.
Plus he might have thought he could work with kellen, and then found out he couldnt for whatever reason.
we dont know what mike or kellen is thinking about all this.
All I know is kellen is still calling the plays, and mike has some sort of sheet that looks like a play sheet, but he just holds it and looks at it sometimes.

The bizarre thing is jerry thinks this division of power is good and the hc having no real power is a good thing.

I would hate to be HC and I cant tell the dc or oc what to do, or what I want them to do, or what I dont like etc.

I think dan is also like kellen and does his own thing, he just is doing it better than kellen.

You nailed it Dandy. Although I don't give a free pass to him to be another walk around yes man collecting checks while pretending to be the head coach of my team. As I mentioned, he wasnt broke. Show some integrity as a coach and dont sell out for the dollar. Others may give him that slack, not me.

Where you truly nailed it here though is in that unique description of the division of power in which the HC has no power over his Coordinators.

Only in JerryWorld.
