Of course he can be MVP. Just like any QB, it all depends on how well the Cowboys play and if a lot of our wins are due to the defense led by him. So far the only QBs that have a shot are Allen and Mahomes.

I need to see the play. It could be that after Parsons tripped up his foot, he took a step or two, as in a football move, before he went down. and since it was behind the LOS, Armstrong was the closet player. So he gets the credit.

Same as if a QB runs out of bounds behind the LOS the closest player gets credit for the sack.

That rule only applies to a player who gives himself up. If Goff went down due to contact the player who made the contact that cause the runner to go down gets the credit for the tackle, or sack in this case. I don't think Goff gave himself up. I think he was tripped. If the Cowboys submit tape the league will review it and decide if they want to change it. I think they should but I have no idea how they think.

Can't stop watching the hustle play from yesterday.........damn, that's some juice.

He is good enough to be worthy of the award, but history would indicate that it is very unlikely. Lawrence Taylor was the last defensive player to capture the award in 1986 and we have seen a few defensive seasons since then that could have been worthy, but were ignored in favor of the customary QB.

If Micah keeps up his current level of performance, DPOY is his no doubt. No one else is at his level right now and I do not think it is even particularly close.

I truly believe he is the best non-QB in the league.

True he did not go down on his own, but I believe the refs blew the play dead as he did not make an attempt to get back up and keep running. Plus he was inside the tackle box, therefore was not considered a runner.
I know what you are saying and are correct. But I think because he did not get back up, the refs determined he gave himself up.

There was a play several years or moreback. Maybe it was a Dallas game. Where a WR or RB got a 1st down, he tripped or slipped going forward and went to the ground. He got up but made no football move going forward. He dropped the ball and pointed 1st down. The question then came up by the opponents, that was a fumble as he was not touched. The refs later explained, they called the play dead, once he got up, and made no move to continue the play. Therefore a dead ball at that spot.
