I have not given up on Romo. I have given up on the system, he needs a tough coach. He needs coach that tells him what he has to do. Not a coach he tells what too do.

IMO, he needs to be with a coach who wants to play smashmouth football. As Parcells warned us, you to keep Romo under control.

Your thoughts..

A tough coach can't fix his accuracy, his best hope is a new QB coach.

Romo, on the right team would be fine. My fear is that his skills are diminishing and by the time this team gets it turned around, it will be too late. Is Tony the best clutch QB ever, hell no. Does he make poor decisions? Yes.

But.....you cannot tell me that he couldn't lead the Ravens of last year for example, to the same place they ended up. He's far better than Flacco.

He is in the wrong place at the wrong time. I am not the biggest Romo fan in the world, but I am certainly not a hater either. Just my take. .02

It is too late for Romo.

The die has been cast with him. No QB guru is going come in and undo the damage that has been hardwired into him. No head coach is going to be able to get in his head and change anything. His QB puberty was over a long time ago and there is no going back.

This was a discussion we should have had when Parcells left. Instead we let David Lee walk and brought back a stooge do-nothing yes-man In The Family Portrait QB coach like Wade Wilson.

Romo is already in decline. Still a good QB, but his best opportunities are behind him. He could still do great with a great team behind him and great coaching, but he won't get that here.

Romo must be traumatized. He went from legend, average, to a kindergarten coach.

At least he has a ton of money in the bank to soothe his football wounds.

This
Despite red having wasted the majority if his career, romo is plenty good enough to win with a real HC and OC

Give Romo a HC/OC worth a damn and a defense that can step up and make a play when the game is on the line and he'll be fine.

If this team had a legitimate pass rush and play caller the division would already be won and this discussion wouldn't be taking place.

Agreed - as long as his psyche isn't down the toilet and I don't think it is.

Romo is one of the most mentally tough QBs in the game IMHO. Can throw 5 picks and go out like it never happened and lead the team to a win.

One of the things I like about him.

I think Romo and the Cowboys would be better apart than together. I like Tony, but my patience with him is running out.

Trick question: he doesn't need to be saved because he's already a terrific QB.

That's obvious to those who actually know football.

Flacco didn't play like Flacco in the playoffs last year, he played more like Brady. For Tony to win with last years Ravens team then he would have to throw 11 tds while throwing 0 ints, do you think he could do that?

Like I said before, Romo just needs something good to happen in a big moment because he suffers from LeBron James Syndrome. Meaning it's in his head.

Again I am the biggest Tony fan, and I say you are spot on. He has gotten this far basically with no coaching, just some BFF's helping him. It amazes me the lack of game management, general football IQ and feel for the circumstances. All of these things would have been huge if he had more time with Parcells before Jerry forced J.O (T.O) on him and chased him away. I think a guy like Holmgren who harnessed Favre without neutering him would be a good fit from a strictly optimizing Tony standpoint.
