yeah but how do you know he couldnt throw farther 2 years ago?

I watched Bledsoe back when he was in the QB Challenge show. He was throwing 70-75 yards back then and he has thrown a couple 70 yarders in Dallas. I just don't see how that constitutes that his arm strength is fading.

BP commented on what a physical speciman he is.

Throwing the deep out will tell you a lot more about a guys arm strengh than throwing the bomb. As for Bledsoe arm I think he still has plenty of zip on his passes.

Good point I can't recall if he has thrown a pass like that while he has been here?

Yep and it was on a rope.

How far was the one against KC? I can't remember. The one against WAS was under 60.

Wow..if you think that's riled up...Just ask if Romo's better than Henson and you'll see some guys riled up...Or better yet ask who's throwing motion is better...and you only get to judge from one pic.:D

Really? Those flea-flicker bombs sure fool me.

Most of the time he's been fine which is why he's still playing. Fortunately for Drew, he doesn't have the same physical throwing style that Aikman had which took great strength. As Aikman aged, he was simply unable to egt it done anymore.

With Drew it's more subtle. He hurls the ball, using his whole arm and body, now as much as he throws it. He's gotten used to it, but it means more of him has to be healthy in order for him to throw well. This also takes longer than just an arm throw. I can remember games in New England where he'd toss the ball a mile effortlessly. That he can still throw like that at all is amazing. Parcells was right, God has been good to Drew Bledsoe.

:laugh2: :laugh2: Exactly....Those 70+yard bombs with "zip" were merely an illusion!! :bang2:
Here's where the imagination of the fan takes over. When did Bledsoe rip 70 yard bombs, plural no less? Drew is far from wasted, but he isn't a 22 year old kid anymore. Don't take his deep passing for granted or assume it will always be on.

Bledsoe's weakness is his dancing in the pocket, not releasing the ball sooner and not being able to escape the sack. Some writers have "seen" a little friction between Bledsoe and TO already. The best example of this is the photo of Drew and TO kneeling next to each other...Bledsoe looks very disturbed while TO is smiling. (i'll try to find the pic)

Romo, on the other hand, has a quicker release and seems to dodge tacklers better. Seems to read the field better.

Their accuracy and arm strength are about equal.

Romo seems to have the ability to deal with TO's "personality".

In summary...ADVANTAGE Romo.

This statement is puzzling to me. What do you base this on?

I agree I'm a bit puzzled about this as well. I also love this line "The best example of this is the photo of Drew and TO kneeling next to each other...Bledsoe looks very disturbed while TO is smiling."

Some of you guys AMAZE me.

So Parcells compares Romo to guys like Jeff Rutledge and Matt Cavanaugh, two career journeyman, back-up QBs, and he tells everyone that it's time to see if Romo can step up and be what those guys were and now we are discussing the question of whether Romo can beat out Drew Bledsoe?

The lack of respect for the calibre of QB Bledsoe still is today and the things Bledsoe has accomplished as an NFL QB is astounding!

Bledsoe is coming off the best year he's had in the last several years, he is in the TOP 7 ALL-TIME in NFL passing yardage, (and will probably move into the TOP 5) and he is currently 5TH ALL-TIME in passing completions, but we are discussing whether Tony Romo can beat him out?!

I would love to hear that question asked of Parcells in one of his daily PCs. :lmao:
