Thinking Garrett will be here another year is sadly mistaken , and too optimistic .

He is going to make the playoffs next year, and he will get another 5 year extension;

The Garrett Era will have 3 playoff berths in 15 years .

Jason Garrett only makes the playoffs when his contract is up, thats every 5 years .

I don't see many holes on Offense or Defense and we have 50m in cap space next year

I am very optimistic that Dak keeps getting better

Man you guys are some negative nancies. The last three games on the schedule should be a win. That gets us to 6 wins. We should beat the Titans. That gets us to 7 wins. We should beat Washington on a short week at home on Thanksgiving day. That's 8.

Is it really that hard to fathom getting acouple of more wins? Splitting with the Eagles should be expected (or a sweep the way they are playing). That gets us to 9.

When you look at the circumstances it's not that far fetched. Hell Atlanta is imploding. There's another.

Beating New Orleans will be a bit taller task.

SURE, WE CAN MAKE IT. It starts with the oline, and ends with the coaching offensively. THAT SIMPLE. Everything else is fine. Fix the oline, and coach better...we can do 10-6. Its a tall order though.

If they break out the Jax and Detroit playbooks they used, maybe.

Doubt 9-7 gets us in, too many good teams in the NFC and we sucked those games away.

I could see 9-7 or 8-8, if they want to actually make the playoffs they're going to have to actually be consistent in running a playaction based misdirection offense. If we don't, we'll keep scoring sub 20 points and losing on stupid management decisions, which should never have been in the equation in the first place.

This D will need to score along with the special teams if we have a shot at all.

Absolutely. And here's how:

1) Sweep the Giants, which means beating NY there - entirely probable, but not guaranteed since it is a Division game.
2) Split with the Commanders, which means beating them here on Thanksgiving. Again, entirely probable, but not guaranteed since it is a Division game.
3) Split with the Eagles. Is going to be difficult, but is certainly a good degree of probability IMO. Main thing is we have to win the home game.
4) Split with the Falcons and Saints. We probably lose to the Saints, but losing to Atlanta is not a foregone conclusion as many think it is.
5) Beat the Bucs at home. A lot can happen between now and then, but I believe we win that home game.
6) Sweep the Titans and Colts. We'll beat the Titans at home Monday week, and I believe the Colts is definitely a winnable game.

Now, whether 10-6 gets us in the playoffs is another question. I don't believe it'll be a Wild-Card winner because of the Carolina and Seattle losses,so it's Division or bust IMO. The 'skins have to lose 3 or their last 8 (assuming we beat them here) to end up at 10-6. The Eagles will have to lose only 1 of their remaining 7 (aside from a split with us) to be at 10-6, which I think is pretty likely. They still have the Rams and Saints on the road.
If we really, really believe!!!!

I can see them winning any one of those 5 games that you say they should win.

But I can't see them winning all 5 of those games that you say they should win .

When Garrett is done, half of the wins will remain. Our record will be perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

It's all going to come down to who wins the NFCE. Wild card is going to be hard to get in as of now, but it's a long season.

Right now the losses against the Panthers and Seattle loom large, as they would both be in front of us not only in record for the wild card race, but also tie breakers. Moreover neither of them are currently leading their division.

Right now, with all tiebreakers applied, the Cowboys are 12th in the NFC. They would need to outperform 6 of the 7 teams ahead of them fighting for a WC spot.

Winning the NFCE is the far better chance at making the playoffs.

Yes. We have one of the best defenses currently in the NFL. Cooper and a re-energized offensive line will provide enough offensive punch to get Zeke back on track. The rest of the NFL will be terrified of playing us. It's going to happen.

I'd say it's doable if the OL gets back to it's old self and Zeke doesn't see 9 man boxes constantly. Then it's a matter of beating Ten, Colts, Tampa, Was and finding two wins somewhere in the remaining two Philly games, Atlanta and New Orleans. If we don't show much/any improvement on first half we'll be lucky to go 8-8.

Going 7-2 the rest of the season is not, in anyway, feasible .

This is exactly like the week after we beat Jax, 'Superbowl' threads everywhere .
