Can the boys make it to 10-6?

I wish the Jones's could've seen this simple post before they threw away our #1 pick.

Nothing against Cooper either. He's a good player but he's a waste on this team with these coaches and this QB in this season.
I understand the viewpoint if you're looking at Cooper as a "this year" fix. I happen to think he's here for the long haul and, if that's the case, there wasn't a 1st round WR coming out in this draft that is as good as Cooper (and you can bet your *** that's exactly what we would have targeted).

I know that argument has been made (and I'm sure you've heard it) but it's a matter of perspective, I suppose.

The interplay between offense and defense in terms of the field position battle is not a "spin", it's pretty basic football. Our offense's starting field position is among the worst in the league; that's a direct consequence of the defense not generating takeaways.

The defense is doing parts of its job very well. But generating takeaways is another part of the job, one that they're really bad at. And it means that overall the D is good but not great. Well, that and the fact that Dallas hasn't played a particularly strong offense yet.

It's also a direct consequence of not having a great punt/kickoff return unit.

Also, there are plenty of teams that somehow manage to generate points without being able to generate turnovers.
Pittsburgh and Green Bay have 3 more turnovers than us yet average 5 and 9 points more per game on offense.
Atlanta and Philly have 1 more and average more points per game than us (7 and 2).
Detroit and Tampa have the same amount and average 4 to 9 points more per game.
SF has one less, average 1.6 more.

None of this is to say your point isn't somewhat valid, in that it would certainly make scoring easier if we started on the opponents 40 more often, but even if we had 1 more turnover per game it's not going to be a magic pill for generating points.

This offense is not good right now.

Like I said, if the offense starts building some leads, maybe we'll see some more turnovers. Right now, offenses don't have to take any chances against us and our defense can't take any against them because our offense is sputtering. They can play the field position game against us and watch us slowly starve and die on Dak Mountain.

I can't see a Garrett team winning the last 7 out of 9 games .

Anything is possible ... but history shows otherwise .

The 'Boys chances of making the playoffs plummeted after the loss to Seattle. Too many miscues in the beginning of the season that have yet to be addressed. It's getting old just like the coaching staff & GM.

Getting to 10-6 means going 7-2 the rest of the way. Over a full season, that would be 12.4-3.6. I don't think we're that good, and I'd be surprised if anyone here does.

Should-wins: TEN, @NYG
Should-loses: NO

Can we go 5-1 against PHI, @PHI, WAS, TB, @ATL, @IND? It's possible, but I don't see any of those as much better than a coin flip (and some are a bit worse). Mathematically, getting 5 heads on 6 flips is an 11% proposition. So I'll go with that as our chances.

Your 11% guess is actually very close to reality...………..The percentage of 3-4 teams that have made the playoffs historically is 14%

Just enjoy the games. We'll win some and we'll lose some. There is only one team going to the Super Bowl from the NFC and that is definitely not us.That much is certain.

It'll be Philly. They have the most explosive offense. Weapons everywhere.

Lolol 10-6

Raiders get a top 10 pick

Cooper wants out because he's "always open"

Garrett is back with another year on the job training

You have to make it to the New Orleans game winning 3 out of the next 4.

It's a mistake for the front office to automatically believe they'd be taking a WR in the first come this offseason before FA begins or knowing where they'll be picking in the 2019 draft.

A couple of our players may hit the FA market, we have a center who has a suspect future (though I think he will be fine), and you never know what players may just flat out decline quickly.

FA is a position where you may not be able to get studs in FA, but you can certainly turn around the group quickly with a couple key signings. You can get by with a couple of good WRs.

The way to make up for this trade is by moving back up into the first if we can.

starting last season and so far this season this team has been on a win one and lose one so no I don't see them go 7 and 2 I just don't think they are a playoff their coaching and qb play is just not good enough

Sure they can................but it will be next year when they have a softer schedule since they will finish 7-9 this year.
