Can the boys make it to 10-6?

the cowboys have already blew there chance at the playoffs when the season started they weren't ready

i don't know that you can say that especially with how the NFC east is looking...if they can put a little run together over the next 4 weeks then they should be right in it after Thanksgiving.

Margin for error is tight and they absolutely need to win every NFC east game...but 10-6 isn't impossible.....at least not until their 7th loss!

Our defense is one of the best in the league in both yardage (313) and points allowed (17), so we will likely be in a position to win every game. The question will be, can our offense manage to score more than our current 26th ranked scoring offense at 20 points per game (it would be much worse than that if not for the one outlier against Jax).

If this defense can keep pace with where it is now and the offense can somehow raise that to a middle of the pack 24ppg, we will have a great shot at 10 wins.

No, IMO we've missed that opportunity with the losses against Washington, Seattle, and Houston. I think that 9-7 is a reality and as fans we will be looking at the "what if's" again at the end of the year like last year when we missed the playoffs.

8-8 is the best we can expect unless this offensive line learned how to block during the by week. The way this team plays on the road is going to be a problem against the better teams and the teams who can score.

The defense is one of the best in the league in those stats, but not one of the best in the league overall, because it doesn't generate takeaways. As a result, our offense's starting field position is among the worst in the league, which is a part of what's holding our scoring down. We've also only played one team that ranks in the top half of the league in points (the Texans), so you have to take those numbers with a bit of salt.

Of course opponents factor in but you also can only play the people on your schedule. It's not like they went up against those offenses and let them score a ton of points on us or march up and down the field. The defense did what it was supposed to and held them down. We held Carolina to 16 points. Baltimore just gave up 36 to them, but I do not see anyone questioning if their defense is really any good. I've seen more to make me believe that our defense is the real deal than I have to believe otherwise.

Our defense being a factor in holding our offense from scoring points is a spin I haven't heard yet. Try this for spin, if the offense would start putting up some points and giving the defense a cushion, they could take more chances going for picks and likely generate more turnovers.

The defense is doing it's job. The offense has been stuck in the mud more often than not because the offense isn't very good. Period.

I'm glad the defense is making an appearance this decade. Took them long enough to show up.

I haven't seen anything in 7 games that would lead me to believe this a ten win team, all due respect to the new WR.

I would rather die trying to save the season than pussing out and playing for Draft position .... that is so lame

At least they are making trades again trying to improve the team

ACooper >>>>>> Butler
Brate >>>>> Schultz

What does 10-6 get you?

Dallas is currently in a 3 way tie for 5th worst in the conference.

Let me put this another way.

only the giants, cardinals, 49ers, and Lions are worse

let that sink in

Can they?
I guess anything is possible.

Will they?
I seriously doubt it.

The interplay between offense and defense in terms of the field position battle is not a "spin", it's pretty basic football. Our offense's starting field position is among the worst in the league; that's a direct consequence of the defense not generating takeaways.

The defense is doing parts of its job very well. But generating takeaways is another part of the job, one that they're really bad at. And it means that overall the D is good but not great. Well, that and the fact that Dallas hasn't played a particularly strong offense yet.
