With this dysfunctional FO, I’m convinced that the Cowboys could have Josh Allen as QB and they wouldn’t achieve success in the playoffs.

Occams Razor tells us that the simplest explanation is most likely the correct one: the sole constant(s) for this team over these past 27 years of mediocrity, has been Jerry and Stephen Jones.

Only if the NFL is rigged ala WWE and they give Jerry one more SB before he travels to the man in the sky......
I can see this happening soon...It is about business and keeping people busy ....integrity is the last thing they would care about

First of all this isn’t a Dak bashing thread . I think most fans believe Dak is enough to build around if we had a normal organization.

Many fans want the Cowboys to go All In. And I’m just not sure these Bozo’s are willing to risk their relativity and interest that mediocrity provides them to hype and sell . It’s a comfort zone for them being a playoff contender which keeps the registers ringing.

What I’m proposing is given if everything else stays the same I think the one piece that could elevate or take us to the next level is an Elite QB.

These fools have proven they can build a playoff caliber team around the likes of over achievers like Prescott and Romo but what if we had a Mahomes, Burrows type QB. Could that be enough to take us to the next level. I’d sure like to find out.

I understand there’s only a handful of these type of QB’s in the league . But how far are those teams going without those types of QB’s?

It takes too much of well oiled machine in the front office and coaching to build a Super Bowl contender without one of these type QB’s IMO.

I understand this isn’t something we can do under current contracts but I think ultimately if we truly want this frikin front office to have more of an opportunity to flourish this is the one entity or asset that might be enough to knock the door down. I’d sure like to try at some point.
We need an elite coach, Big Mike may become that. We need a coach to be the face of this franchise instead of Stephen and Jerry. The last time that happened was Parcells and you see how that turned out, they ran him away.

Right. And that’s not going to happen with Jethro and Son. It’s why Jimmy left as well.

Why? It’s the most import position on the team….
If you run QBs, you get more value out of them on the field.
But you can't afford to run them if you've got 100mil of dead money locked up in them.

If you draft them and run them, you can get the same net value out of a less experienced QB without paying 40mil in cap and risking cap destruction if they get injured.

QB + running + 40mil > More Experienced QB + Dead Cap Risk

If you draft well the cap shouldn't be a problem.

40 million dollar QB isn't the issue its investing 200 million in players you will get rid of in the next 2 years. Gotta manage the cap smarter.

The cap is the fundamental constraint in the league for keeping vested veterans on the team. It is *the* problem around which league competition is organized.

That's the true question.
