This is a GREAT question!!

The better question should be...........................What are the chances that the Jones clowns are able to draft an elite QB in our life time? I say the chances are barely above 10%.

Now even if they did get lucky and were able to draft one, would they have the right coaching and be able to surround him with a championship roster? I think those chances are just as slim.
yes, that is something they likely cannot do.

and they struggle picking coaches too, and if those coaches show they are not up to the job, jones boys keep them anyway lol
Garrett and mike !

Also I dont think they need an elite qb, just one who can handle pressure and is smarter on field than dak.
but replacing dak wont help with poor offensive coaching.
Also jones boys do not handle personel decisions properly, so that hurts too.

If the defense ever gets to 1985 Bears level, or such, they can also win a SB. It's happened several times over the years.

But that's probably just as hard as getting the "eilte" quarterback.
well what if you run into a similar defense in playoffs?
In SF div game, cowboys could only score 12 points, and that wont win in playoffs. Dallas D did a good job holding SF to 19.
you still need a capable offense and a qb that wont make mistakes or really stupid throws.

You could give this team the 85 Bears Defense and the 92/93 Cowboys Offense and Jerruh would still find a way to screw it up

Pats won 13-3 just four SBs ago, if not for the extra missed point Cowboys would have scored 13.

And Dallas lost Pollard fairly early in the game, very likely with him all the game Cowboys would have scored more like 16-20

Neither the missed extra point nor losing your primary running back happen that often.

I wasn't saying winning with basically only defense would be easy, just noting another way Dallas could win a SB...

The QB is the least of the problems with this team. Its the Jones family period. They wasted a decade with a “head coach in training” then 4 more years with an “OC in training”. They have the most valuable sports franchise on Earth and they want to shop in the bargain bin for coaches and free agents. I may not love the shottenheimer OC move but at least its a guy the HC had experience with and he wasn’t forced on him. Dak has a crap year. Maybe having real coaching will get him back to the 37/10 QB he was in 2021.

I think they’ve proven they cannot do it without an elite qb

Romo was good. Wasn’t enough

Dak is good. Not good enough

I think the only chance to carry this team is a super star qb. But they’ll never get one
Financially it’s not feasible but Rodgers and 1 more receiving option coupled with less zeke and less kellen

See easy fix!

I’m being sarcastic btw

First of all this isn’t a Dak bashing thread . I think most fans believe Dak is enough to build around if we had a normal organization.

Many fans want the Cowboys to go All In. And I’m just not sure these Bozo’s are willing to risk their relativity and interest that mediocrity provides them to hype and sell . It’s a comfort zone for them being a playoff contender which keeps the registers ringing.

What I’m proposing is given if everything else stays the same I think the one piece that could elevate or take us to the next level is an Elite QB.

These fools have proven they can build a playoff caliber team around the likes of over achievers like Prescott and Romo but what if we had a Mahomes, Burrows type QB. Could that be enough to take us to the next level. I’d sure like to find out.

I understand there’s only a handful of these type of QB’s in the league . But how far are those teams going without those types of QB’s?

It takes too much of well oiled machine in the front office and coaching to build a Super Bowl contender without one of these type QB’s IMO.

I understand this isn’t something we can do under current contracts but I think ultimately if we truly want this frikin front office to have more of an opportunity to flourish this is the one entity or asset that might be enough to knock the door down. I’d sure like to try at some point.
Last time I checked only 12 teams have one a superbowl since the last time Dallas won it. And 6 won it once and haven't been back since.

People say ok but atleast they been there, but if Dallas were to make it peoples excuses would be but they didnt win it. There has been one consistency in 27 yrs and that's been new England.

Is it jerrys fault Crayton dropped a tds?
Is it jerrys fault in 2014 that the refs blew a call?
Is it jerrys fault in 2016 again another missed call. But dak outplayed hof Roger's as a rookie. Is it his fault the Def couldn't stop them?
this yr is it jerrys fault pollard got hurt?

Dysfunctional ownerships always yield bad to mediocre results. Thus the last 28 years and counting.

I don't think the Jones boys would be capable of winning with Mahomes. They would find a way to make it not work.
This raises an interesting point. Would Mahomes be an elite QB if he hadn't wound up playing for Andy Reid?

This has nothing to do w Dak. Dak hasn’t been the qb for 30 years

yes, they can. Troy Aikman wasn't elite, and Jalen Hurts is not as good as Dak.
ME: . . . Prototypical that's all . . . wasn't Elite? . . . What a Joke

YOU: Stats . . . Numbers . . . Stats

:lmao2: what a Joke

its not a Dak bashing thread, but its going to turn into one. I haven't even read past this thread.

all you have to do on this board is mention Dak and a few of the oldies are all over it. MC Flip Flop and Poopy Dog and Romo loving Khiladi for sure...they are so obsessed. its actually starting to be distrubing
