Cutting players to make this coaching staffs job "easier" is like pissing your self at winter to stay warm

Wow, now that I think about it, you're right. They're exactly the same.

dude a year from now the staff will be gone anyways why would anyone want to make drastic roster moves to please a staff that's only here cause Holmgren wants to sit out a year?

It might make everyone feel better right now but once the season starts reality will set it and it and things will be even worse then they where

What makes you think Holmgren would want him?

I don't think he wants or doesn't want anything but i'd rather the next staff make these choices cause the current staff is a lost cause

We had the 7th best team rushing YPC in the NFL in 2007 when Sparano was here and we actually committed to the run game, instead of running the shotgun all the time and playing glorified Arena Football to appease WR's who publicly complain they didn't get enough looks after games which they're targeted 17 times.

I've got a question.

Didn't Owens get more balls thrown his way in 2007 than he did last season? And wasn't the offense much better in 2007 than it was last season? And wasn't that offense the 2nd best in the NFL and fans had few, if any, complaints about it?

For those of you who are so sure that Owens is complaining about getting the ball...don't you think he also complained in 2007?

So here's what we have:

2007 offense: Owens gets more balls thrown his way, probably campaigns for the ball behind the scenes, offense has excellent year, fans happy.

2008 offense: Owens gets fewer balls thrown his way, probably campaigns for the ball behind the scenes, offense has relatively poor year, fans unhappy.

But the problem here is what? Owens getting too many balls thrown his way, even though he had more balls thrown his way the year before? Even though the year before, the offense was significantly better...when he was getting more balls thrown his way than he got this season?

A little common sense is all I ask.

Man, this is sad. I'm sad that this board has sunk to this level, and I'm sad that Cowboys organization's problems have prompted this.

It could possibly help the team, to some degree, but it won't suddenly make us a serious Superbowl contender. We've got more issues than just the drama that comes with having TO around.

Oh goodie, the straw man argument.

No. The Owens situation in Philly was twofold:

1. Numerous teammates came out and criticized McNabb following the Super Bowl loss, and Owens joined in. That was what kicked off their contentious relationship.

2. A contract dispute.

The latter was what really did him in with the organization.

Oh, I see what I'm dealing with now. A total loon.

Most players act mostly in terms of their own self-interests because almost no player sticks with the same organization for his entire career. So, in a way, is not every player a "mercenary?" Even Emmitt Smith kept playing with the Arizona Cardinals. So how much did he REALLY care about the Cowboys organization?

Certainly, the likes of Charles Haley, Ken Norton, Kevin Gogan, Deion Sanders, Mark Stepnoski, and Alvin Harper weren't "all about the Cowboys." They wanted rings for THEMSELVES...and maybe for the players on the team they were friends with. That's no different than what Terrell Owens wants. He might not bleed for the organization or for every single guy in the locker room, but he wants to win a ring for himself and the people on the team that he likes and respects.

You're the one who is a certifiable nutcase, and I'm not alone in that belief.

"TO swallows bottles of vicadin at a time because his coaches are too mean to him."

See, you can't even make a cogent argument so you have to resort to outright falsehoods. It was an accidental overdose; he was being treated for his broken finger. You think he walked out of the doctor's office with the medication for his broken finger and went, "You know? Everyone's being mean to me! I'm going to kill myself." Then he swallowed a bunch of pills, went to the hospital, and managed to fool the police into believing it wasn't a suicide attempt.

Gee, thanks ImmanRoshi for your well-informed perspective on what REALLY happened. :lmao:

Gee, who should we believe...the likes of you guys? Or me, 5countem5, theogt, Clove, The Count, SultanOfSix, and Vintage?

Who do you think has the better collection of IQs?

:lmao:[/quote]

Hey look another guy who is publically claiming to be smarter than other people.

Whatever.
