Can we agree on one thing?

I think two things really will be the major factors in next years success
We’ve got to have an offensive scheme that’s fits our personnel
We have to get our QB to grow into the position
Those are the big two
We need our young defensive backs to continue to grow, add some depth at LB, OT and maybe a new #1 WR
But if those first two aren’t accomplished nothing else will matter

Some good points but not on a "new #1 WR". Those days are over IMO. You look at the Pats and other teams and they just have good receivers all over the field. But most importantly they have the QB. Gronk is good but only as good as the QB who gets him the ball. Downright depressing about Dak's slide into the abyss. Now we can start all over again.

So.. Can we at least agree that the truth lies somewhere between the 13 wins from last season and the 8 we will have this year?

I believe the key is how we handle revamping the whole offensive strategy. It's antiquated, predictable, and the person running it does not adjust well to change on the fly.

I don't believe they will revamp the whole offensive strategy. Garrett is an extremely stubborn and arrogant individual.

They will end up doing what Jones has been hinting at. Expect that this year's struggles with Prescott were situational and he learned from it and keep on doing what they do.

Also, we blew three games at home with halftime leads. Garrett and this staff are this year's biggest culprits.

This team could easily be 11-4 right now.

Let this sink in....we were 5-4 w/ Zeke. And in 4 out of the 5 wins....those games could have gone either way.

We are a poorly coached team. And a poorly run organization...from head to toe. Jerry cares about one thing. And that's making money.

90.00 for a pair of sweats....52.00 for a double shot of crown and coke tell me so. And the booze is watered down...and not even full shots.
LOL I feel you Floaty. I do.

Looks like you inadvertently created a thread for some to whine about how bad we are and completely miss your point.

Some get it and you’re right on the money. Except, I believe the coaches can adjust. They just will not. Which is worse in some ways.
LOL... I'm glad you get it. People are going to whine. That's what happens when hopes get dashed.

They are not moving on from Dak after a very good season and a bad season
Just not gonna happen and shouldn’t
You can’t give up on a player that quick

Nope. I expect the Cowboys to provide Dak with more speed, size and better route running at the WR position. I also expect them to revise the passing game scheme.

Lots of great opinions/comments!

We can all agree this team was fortunate last year and handicapped this year. Hopefully we can agree that with no suspensions, better offensive scheming and no major injuries next year, this is a playoff team. With improvement from the QB position, it is a Super Bowl team.
Absolutely on point sir!

We are an 8-8 team. Jason Garrett is an 8-8 coach. If things do not change there, we will continue to be an 8-8 team no matter who we draft, or what lowly FA's they continue to bring in.

This off season will be the same crap, a lot of promises and slogans and sayings, and fight t-shirts.
Get ready for the jerry / Stephen propaganda speak.

For years many would say and myself included,...but if we get this player or that player we can make out run...well I am not buying that crap anymore. I expect nothing to change. So I will be ready for another 8-8 season and Garrett losing a win and in game, yet again. And Jerry will have built in excuse to keep him.

I just wonder what Jerry or Stephen will say his year...WOW player, Secret Sauce, War Daddy....well, they haven't provided any yet...
how about a Commander and Chief General War Daddy Secret Sauce coaching staff. a WOW coaching staff.

Now then I may get excited about the 2018 season. Right now I am not even having any hopes of improvement.
My optimism from the past has been snuffed out by an inept FO and staff. oh, I am sure after the season, I may find a flicker here or there. But it sure is raining hard out there to keep it from starting back up.

When you place as much pressure on the defense as we did this year with our atrocious offensive scheming, that is bound to happen regularly.
Our defense is weird. It’s like you can watch the first play of the drive and guess what’s gonna happen from there. It’ll be a march down the field or they’ll be swarming all over the place and stuff everything

We weren't as good as we thought we were last year and we're not as bad as we think we are this year.

Surely we can all agree on that very logical assumption given the variables from both seasons.

2016
Rookie QB
Rookie RB
Both playing behind a stellar offensive line. We put up an abundance of points clearly off of sheer talent and the lack of familiarity opposing defenses had with either of those two guys.

2017
Roger Goodell made sure we suffered.
Zeke perhaps should have taken the suspension earlier in the season so he could have reacclimated himself long before the stretch run.
Teams studied Dak and Zeke long & hard. They devised strategies to stop them and those strategies worked mostly because of a clearly understood lack of ability by our coaching staff to adjust.

So.. Can we at least agree that the truth lies somewhere between the 13 wins from last season and the 8 we will have this year?

You are what your record says you are. We are 8-8. Meh!
