Can we beat the Giants?

With BJ at QB............I give us a 10% chance.

It is possible, but highly unlikely we beat the G-men next week.

I think we all need to start thinking Wildcard because the G-men will probably win the division if we lose to them next week. That is because we would be 3.5 games back with 7 left.

oh no we don't. this game would be tough with Romo playing let alone with Vinny, er, Brad back there.

With Brad Johnson thats a big negative ghost rider. This team is going to get killed, if the team had a half way decend backup the Cowboys might have a chance.

Does anybody know when
Romo
Felix
Kosier
Newman

will be back?

Newman earliest after the Bye Week, IMO.

As for Kosier and F Jones, maybe there's a chance they are ready to go vs. the Giants?

Possibly Spencer as well.

Romo probably after the Bye as well - though to beat the Giants we absolutely NEED him, IMO.

We can but They have a monster defense and our offense is horrible right now. So if I was a betting man I would put my money on the Giants all the way.

we score maybe 10 points against that D. I doubt we hold them under 17 points.

Man our offense have to find away to score more points to beat the Giants.

Defensive stops! Don't let Jacobs and the run move the chains. Run the ball on offense, and protect the rock.

It can be done.

How good would 6-3 going to the bye and letting the calvary catch up from the med tent (Newman, Romo, Kozier, Spencer, Felix) feel???

My hope has been replinshed!

Guys:

What are the Giants' strengths and weaknesses?

What can the Cowboys do to beat the Giants?

What is absolutely necessary of our team?

Very unlikely - not a good matchup for us with their physical OL and aggressive front 7. I can see them shutting us out next week with BJ at QB. Offense will be 3 & out all-game long and defense will become demoralized and run over like roadkill. Of course, I could be totally off my rocker but that's the way I see it.

Strengths...run game and blitz

Weaknesses...secondary, were burned twice for TDs on play action passes one of which was called back for a hold. Also the Giants don't seem to play better at home then they do on the road.

Without Romo keeping it low scoring like you did today will be crucial, since Johnson doesn't have that quick strike ability

Well, if we do manage it, it will be because Dallas is fired up from this win and the Giants are flat from theirs.

But given our injuries, especially at QB, and their D I don't give us much of a shot.

As awful as Brad was today (and he was awful), he was better than last week. If he can put together a decent dink and dunk kind of game and our D plays like today. We have a chance.

I have a feeling the Giants will show up, unlike Tampa. We won the game we had to win with Romo out, I wouldn't be surprised to see us not show up next week.

It is highly unlikely. I don't expect it with Brad Johnson. but I would love to see it. Could you imagine what it will mean to go into the bye at 6-3 knowing you get about 5 key players back on both sides of the ball? No matter what, I'm tuning it.

there's also a possibility that Johnson won't make it through the game and we may see Bollinger.

In no way am I saying that we are surely going to win, but I'm not going to dismis/forfiet the game. We may very well get destroyed, but if the D can play lights out, force turnovers, and we get something going with the run game...we have a chance.

Dallas has scored 32 more points on offense than NY.

The problem is that Dallas has allowed 83 more points on defense than NY.

We've also played 8 games to their 7.

You guys should know by now to throw the records and ratings out the window in the NFC. We already know what the Giants are capable of. This game will be closer than a lot of you think. I won'y be suprised if the game comes down to the last play. I believe we can win it.

I would love for us too, cause goodness would it help us on the division race and the playoffs, but I just don't know that I believe that we can move the ball, and score enough points, against their defense.

That D is pretty darn good and just held a solid Pittsburgh offense to 14 points.

Well, with Brad, it looks like we'd need:

Good Run D - if our D shows us what it had against the Bucs, no worries here.

We NEED to be able to take advantage of Eli's mistakes (if he makes any). No leaving INT's on the field, please.

Unfortunately, I'm not so sure Brad will be able to take advantage of the Giants' pass D.

One VERY important thing for this offense is to make sure it gets into a 3rd and short situation. Brad can't be relied on to constantly convert 3rd and 7+.
