Can we cut Kyle Orton asap?

Reasonable. Up to now, Orton's behavior seems atypical. Maybe he's dealing with a family matter. Perhaps he's having some sort of breakdown. Maybe he's soaking up the sun in Cabo.

Who knows? Wouldn't it be wonderful if someone could find out? Just imagine. A professional or group of professionals taught and trained to search for hidden answers. Men and women who are paid to dig for facts, make phone calls, knock on neighbors' doors, and put the pieces of the puzzle together. Sounds like a problem for the police, but Orton has not done something criminal. I wonder. Who fits the bill? What sort of people can gather facts together and publish them for public consumption?

Oh! Publish! I got it! The media! The media could actually work in providing news about Orton. Eureka!

Or they can just tweet the same-old same-old. Whatever's easiest, I guess.

IMO he doesn't want to play, but he doesn't want to pay back the 3m. He is probably hoping we June 1st cut him and save his 3.25m salary for this year. It's a 6m swing if he just retires.

sounds like the smart way of handling things....but then again maybe he has better things going on...he is not in a contract violation and its not like he is the starting QB for the Cowboys...not a big deal at the moment....why sweat the small stuff.....there are bigger issues on the Cowboys then Kyle Orton.

That may be the problem right there. Orton's got caught partying with fifths. Not with pints or half-pints. Not with beer mugs or even a four pack of wine coolers. Orton's toting fifths. Go head on Orton. You may be a big, old sloppy alcoholic getting full before it's mandatory veteran minicamp time.

I don't understand. What is Orton doing wrong? Not calling back Wade Wilson? That's worthy of getting cut? Give the guy some time to himself. You have no idea what's going on with Orton. Especially if he's risking to give back potentially 3 million.

I seriously would sign Vince Young at this point and let him learn the offense before Camp starts. I don't trust Weeden at all if Tony had to miss some games. I think Vince would at least keep the offense in good position if he just uses his legs on third down to keep the chains moving. Weeden just looks like he's gonna be a walking interception trying to force something that's not there.

I don't know why the Cowboys won't at least kick the tires with Vince. I thought he looked really good last preseason with Green Bay. He should've made that roster.

Seems like a game of chicken right now. He knows he gets paid nicely if he gets cut.
To his his credit, he's always been a solid pro and good teammate. But for whatever reason, he may have lost the desire.
Not much easier good money than being a NFL backup QB though.

I'm actually a bit surprised we didn't throw a dart at the wall with either McCarron or Murray in the 5th round..

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter suggested on Saturday morning that McCarron's slide may have stemmed from bad meetings with team executives who felt he rubbed them the wrong way during the pre-draft process. NFL Network reported that some were bugged by how cocky they felt McCarron came off.

Don't know if Jones & Co. met with McCarron pre-draft, but it would not surprise me if they would have felt the same as others reportedly did. My bet was Murray before the draft. That didn't happen, but Dustin Vaughan has me intrigued somewhat.

Yeah Im down with signing Vince Young as well. Romo goes down we r not going anywhere anyway, may as well tank the season with Romos backup and have a prime draft slot for a 2015 qb. Im even happy having Weeden in the backup role or our new Christmas Sweater qb as backup...It really does not matter, Orton does not offer us much.
