Agreed Mclaurin and Diggs could be a serious matchup . Just hoping Gregory Tank and Parsons give Heneicke all he can handle . But if Im the skins Im running the ball till we prove we can stop it .Don't let Heneicke look like Drew Brees and we win. Stop the run which means holding them under 100. managing Mclaurin, keeping him contained. I think we win if we do that. Again, it will depend on our big uglies on both sides of the ball and how physical we are. We MUST set the tone early.
And we have stunk at defending it for a long time all the way back to Andy Reid , McNabb and Westbrook gashing us with it till it made a permanent mark in my conciseness.WFT likes the rb screen game. We tend 2 stink defending it. I hope DQ worked on this this week.
My feeling is if we can finish strong with say 11 wins we have a chance but if we get pummeled by our division opponents in the last few games and back into the tournament on some kind of tie-breaker we are done
He ran more before the calf injury. Not 100% sure why Dak is not running anymore but he used to be very good at knowing when to run and being able to do it and protect himself . I never viewed him as a running QB but he was always a big strong athletic guy who could get us a first down in an emergency and keep the chains moving . All this 3 and out till the 4th qtr heroics could very well keep us from the post season and will most definitely lead to a one and done if we get there
Agreed Roy we are getting our starters back so there are no excuses against a division rival with bad health and a back up QB . The Skins are on a good roll and are giving it their all but there is no reason we should lose unless the coaches do not prepare us right .
Sunday will tell if this is the begining or the begining of the end .
FINISH WHAT You say !!! Look at the schedule Finish off our divisional opponents that could rob us an opportunity for a playoff birth . Its every bit in front of us as much as it is them . Its who wants it MORE !! ITS WHO CAN FINISH!!!
Two camps on how to handle injuriesQB was having a MVP season until he tore his calf muscle while he was "finishing" vs the Patriots.
These type of threads are ridiculous
Untill this offense gets rolling even against good defenses then its unlikely we win. Our supposed strength of this team hasn't been a strength for about a month and beating a couple average teams in our division won't change my mind.
I would honestly like to see him tuck it away and get some safe yrds with his legs when its there . It would take away some of the need to go through all the progressions . If he has open field in front of him and can get 8-10 yrds with a slide to safety take it and move the chains .I don't think Dak is mentally and physically right guys. He is gradually getting better..but we need him to make faster progress. Its crunch time.
This team is fricking soft, there are only a couple of players who seem to show up every game. The rest of the them show up because they have a contract with the Boys. 3/4 of the AFC Western Div manhandled this team and in two of the games the Boys were fricking favored by FOOTBALL EXPERTS by as much as 10 points!!!!!!!!!!! When this team goes up against an opponent who punches them in the mouth at the beginning of a game these STUDS fold like a cheap tent. It's sickening because they're supposed to be loaded with all this talent that doesn't show in big games................Who are the finishers on this team ??? Not our coach with his suspect clock management, surely not our inconsistent kicker . These are 2 things good teams depend on for a playoff run .
How about our QB?? He used to be a finisher but now since he got Paid and Injured he seems to refuse to use his legs to move the chains anymore when we are struggling . DCs around the league have scratched Dak running off their list of things to plan for when facing us and it hurts us that Dak will not run once in a while and keep defenses honest . At this stage in his career he should know when he can run and protect himself . Its a dimension of our offense that is nonexistent now .
Our RBs Pollard is a finisher !!! But now both are a bit banged up
O Line seems to all depend on Tyrons health and that is suspect at best so no we cant hang our hat on them . Plus drive-killing penalties
WR some frustrating drops at times but they border on being able to finish.
How about our defense Parsons is definitely a FINISHER and a true throwback type player that I think we can all appreciate . Diggs another finisher But The Defense as a whole gets totally gashed on a consistent basis by bad teams as well as good and is only saved by the TOs that Diggs and Parsons create . Veteran QBs that dont make mistakes will kill this defense
We have the ultimate opportunity to FINISH off our division with the remaining games against division teams except for Cards and go into the playoffs strong . We come into this weeks game as healthy and rested as anyone could want at this point in the season with guys returning on the Dline . If Dak continues to make business decisions and lets us go 3 and out we will lose to the Football team and be lucky to even make the playoffs . Thoughts??
Tomorrow is the time for them to put up or shut up . No excuses excepted !!This team is fricking soft, there are only a couple of players who seem to show up every game. I hope so but I doubt it. No consistency on this team. As much as I like Kellen, he seems to be one dimensional and still following Garrets philosophy of sticking with the plan.
yes BUT 2 your point, defense travels very very well in the post season and gives you a great chance at winning, even when things aren't great. I like our chances if Dak and the line can improve just a touch. Defense wins championships and offense sells tickets.Well Suprise ! Suprise ! After our defense proved they could finish a game our horrible offense just wouldnt let it happen no matter how many of the Skins starters got carted off the field . Exactly what I said Dak had to do he finally did to finish the game . He ran the ball and got the first down . As a matter of fact he ran for 2 1st downs today as many as he has rushed for the whole year .
This game told us a lot , We can compete on defense not dominate like we did today against a team of 3rd stringers but we can compete .
On offense its done ,over we are history . Cant finish and get in the endzone on a team this decimated with injurys = One and done in the playoffs. Sure we have enough Juice to beat the lowly Giants and possibly the Skins at home but not the Cards and probably not the Eagles . Definitely not a real Playoff team dosent matter how many chances the defense give us we can squander them with the best . Dak is a confused mess who is trying to be Peyton Manning instead of Dak Prescott . He is making bad decisions that he did not used to make starting to feel like Im watching Romo again . This is BAD!!!!
