Can we let go of our Super Bowl pretensions?

A team that performs like a bottom-rung team with a HC without vision or toughness should not have its fans speculating about the SB.
Let us worry about winning the NFC East from the Eagles, first. This Eagles are not talented as we, but they are tougher than the Cowboys.
Sitting at 2-2 gives no team a license for aiming higher than its division.
Burma shave.

That is actually debatable. They currently have the #1 rushing offense in the NFC and are 3-1 despite only having 1 home game so far. Their D has been a bit banged up, but they will be getting healthier.

Well...some may argue that they basically payed a home game yesterday. But they still had to travel and play 3 time zones away.

its pretty clear the eagles will win the division because they have the better defense

we went 13-3 last year, im going to shock you, the loss to GB did not shock me. in fact non of last season was surprising to me. Daks play was better than than i thought. the rest was on par.

The GB loss didn't shock me, either. They were a tough team, too. And we've struggled to field a playoff-competitive defense for years, now. This year doesn't look to be any different, early.

Still, it's a long season. A lot changes as the year goes on. At least defensively, we get Hitch, Irving, and Chidi back before long. And Xavier Woods looks to me like a guy who's going to earns starter's reps. The mediocre run blocking and pass protection is what concerns me, because I don't understand why it's happening.

The defense that gave up 27 to the Giants and the Chiefs and 24 to the 0-4 Chargers this weekend? Maybe.

i wouldnt argue with any of that, because its fact. but the fact continues on and if it was Garrett just letting the season go but working on teh defense, im happy, 0-16 and i d still be thrilled, that defense needs a lot of work and dallas did do a lot. if he continues and lets them play, have at it. but im not concerned with winning if Garrett is working that defense.

I think I heard that they were without 5 starters on D vs the Giants. Not sure about the Chargers...but I know Cox and Darby were out.

That's fair. I haven't even seen the Eagles play this year. I just know they're giving up a lot of points to some bad teams.

Until this defense shows it can hold up its end of the bargain without the crutch of a ball control offense, no Super Bowl. There's always going to be an Aaron Rogers, Matt Ryan, etc lurking in the playoffs.

So beating back to back under .500 teams that have YET TO WIN a game, makes them tougher. How did they perform playing a team over .500? Check & Mate. :muttley:

Lol. I never said we were a Superbowl team in the first place. I'm only commenting on your embarrassing week four histrionics.
Blimey! I dunna understand your need to be correct, to have the last word, wayward lad. You were not successful in extracting yourself from your initial misunderstanding of preseason vs. 4 games into the season. So being the forgiving and gracious bloke I am, I forgave you. I even uttered "There, but for the grace of god, go I."
Really, old chap, old noodle, just say you were wrong and, like the snow princess sister LET IT GO. :)

Has any team looked real good this year? Maybe KC but lets see what they do tonight.

Me wet suit was too tight. Next morning I drifted on the beach and two homeless guys made me coffee and fed me sardines for the delirium. Lad, no more wet suits for me.

You are correct. Other than KC, nobody has looked great.

The final 4 teams last year - NE, GB, Pittsburg, and Falcons all have been inconsistent and beatable.

I really think our collective talents are top 5.
Do we have a the vision, the dedication, the innovative game plan, the will power and most important, a coach who will breathe fire upon dumb mistakes?
Sadly, no, good lad.

It was the best brew I had and the other guy didn't want you to have it! The noive!
I apologize for making you filter the grounds with your teeth...

The sardines were extra salty though, yeah? You never mentioned, or complimented my broken English... and I was doing my best to sound like an Eastern European gypsy and thought my erratic playing of the viola was a dead giveaway of me trying hard to look suave and sophisticated, while caked with the muds of the uncleansed.

Next time- white tigers and cheap pizza while doing my best to give you my Super Mario stuff.

Let us just agree that the Fellini triptych on the beach --- viola, a Greek chorus, midgets, dishes levitating and a carnival in the background --- was too much for me. As I fled I said some words you could not hear: The ocean is no haven, I want to be alone, cruel stranger.
