What distinction is it you think you're making here, Gimme? What distinction is it you think you're making between 'contending' and 'talking Superbowl?' And who's supposedly talking Superbowls in Dallas right now? Like, what single poster has mentioned it going back to the embarrassing butt-kicking we got in Denver in week 2? At what point this year has the team looked in-synch enough that that's even been a remote topic on CZ?

And if absolutely nobody is saying it, and you're not talking about 'contending'....well, why'd you create a thread about it? Are we going to have to endure a guy faking a phony 1920's Brittish/Scottish/hint of Australian accent telling us not to pretend to be the best NFL team ever next? Where's your thread about not claiming 2017 to be an undefeated season any longer? Are we not worried about these things, as well? Or did the imaginary conversations all just stop at Superbowl?

Nobody's playing for a Superbowl in week four. How bout we go week to week and see where we end up?

Are you incapable of analyzing our chances? It’s clearly obvious this defense gives us little chance to win it all. At this point we will be struggling to make the playoffs.

 

[Verdict]

Those are long gone. The minute we let all those free agents go told me we’re rebuilding. Tired of it but I have no control over it. You cannot win with bad secondary play and average DL talent in the playoffs. The best possible season is one and done in the playoffs. But 8-8 is more likely.

Oddly enough I believe the secondary will be the strength of this defense before all is said and done this year. Hopefully we don't piss off the year before we see the fruits of that happening.

Gee, they have been gosh awful!! Manning looks dead behind that line. If they are not out..they are darn close to it. There is no coming back from 0-4.

Not out of contention but the fat lady is warming up. If Washington loses tonight it makes their season less of a write off at this point.

The GB loss didn't shock me, either. They were a tough team, too. And we've struggled to field a playoff-competitive defense for years, now. This year doesn't look to be any different, early.

Still, it's a long season. A lot changes as the year goes on. At least defensively, we get Hitch, Irving, and Chidi back before long. And Xavier Woods looks to me like a guy who's going to earns starter's reps. The mediocre run blocking and pass protection is what concerns me, because I don't understand why it's happening.

Good post. The OL issues could be fixed by swapping out Green and Collins. 4 positions are back to dominant and then only one questionable position and I have to think he would be better than Free.
