It's pretty obvious that he is a good GM. Look at this collection of talent. It didn't just happen. Jerry was a big part of this and right now this team is as good as any team in the league and has a legit shot at a SB.
Kudos to Jerry, Wade and the rest of the Cowboys.

All Jerry picks.

Some of Parcells greats:
Al Johnson
Peterman
Rogers
Carpenter
Fasano

(Btw, Parcells hated Ratliff and didn't think he'd do anything. He also wanted Duane Robertson over Terence Newman.)

Jerry deserves more credit than he's given. Not to mention he's continued to build without Parcells, with Spencer, Jenkins, Scandrick, etc.

What have Parcells and Jeff Ireland done in Miami?

Nothing!

He wanted to cut James didn't think he could play MLB, and as far as the receivers... I believe you that he got them but he never used them so it doesn't matter, my friend has had a Vette for 4 years, we call it the batmobile cause you never see it. What I'm saying, he may have picked a few good players but so did Wade and Jerry and they TRUSTED their picks to make plays when needed. What good were those guys when Parcells was here if he didn't trust them to win. Seattle perfect example.

At some point, people have to start agreeing that whoever is helping with our drafting and free agent decisions, is doing one helluva job.

Its easy to criticize Jerry for some things back in the 90's. But this isnt the 90's anymore. He definitely made changes after the Dave Campo debacle, and we're a better team today because of it.

Unless I'm mistaken, Jerry's been the GM through the last two head coaches. So, if GMs get credit for bringing in talent, he deserves credit for all of it regardless of the HC.

He's put together a team that is talented enough to win the Super Bowl. I'm not real sure what else a GM can do.

With an assist from Bill Parcells.

This team is WADE'S team, NOT BP's....clearly WP's...should we start with who WP has brought in here starting with Brooking?

bullcrap.

parcells missed as much as he hit. he did turn the boat around but his being here was a jones pick.

wade being here was a jones pick.

who won a playoff game in their 3 years here?

If Jerry is left on his own after 3 years of Campo do you really think we are where we are today?

Bill re-built the foundation of what was a terrible football organization. Jerry is reaping the benefits today.

For the last six or seven years I've always thought that Jones was doing a great job as GM. He's done a very good job with drafting and signing free agents. And I think this year he finally learned that team chemistry outweighs sexy FAs.

Jerry just needs to stick to this rule: DON'T TRADE ANY MORE 1ST ROUND PICKS FOR WRs!

Now as far as Jerry the Head Coach wannabe, now that I have a serious problem with. He does not need to be making any more "executive decisions" when it comes to coaching. Not because he's always wrong, but because it undermines his HCs ability to a lead a team when the "real" boss is the owner.

Those last few drafts look really great in hindsight. Even barbie is playing okay.

I'm not taking away from Jerry. I think he would be the absolute first to admit that he learned from Bill being here for 4 years.

Or do you think that that the stark difference in performance between Jerry pre-Bill vs. post Bill is some random coincidence?

But Jerry looked in the mirror and made the change he needed to, and hired Parcells and let him make the decisions. He deserves credit for that.

For every one of those players, other than Miles and Tony, Jerry Jones uttered the words, "Lets draft this guy."

Am I even arguing with you?

My point is that this team's foundation is strong. BP played a role in that. I was a BP supporter and appreciate his contributions here. I also like where our organization is positioned for the future.

And in the case of Miles and Tony, he said "Yeah, let's sign that guy." He's the GM. Every single person on this team has his stamp of approval.
