Twitter: Can We Stop Pouting About La’el Being Let Go for Steele?

I always thought the move was going to be benefitial barring some growing pains. La’el is so talented but not football smart and not a hard worker. We hate a culture that promotes that yet we are mad when we move on from those guys for the hard workers. Talent isn’t the only thing that defines success, this RT switch illustrates that perfectly.

I preferred that we hold on to Collins and move him to guard if we wanted to play Steele at tackle, since we were losing our left guard and McGovern hadn't actually showed much. I think there were reasons to be concerned about the line plan because there were some pretty good question marks. The staff deserves credit that they seem to have done a good job of answering those questions so far.

Many on here take things to the Nth degree, such as believing there's no way Steele should be starting. ven though they take it too far, that doesn't mean there weren't legitimate reasons for some concern.

Jerry Jones has been owning this forum this season.

Maher - board melt down
Rush as back up - board melt down
Collins released - board melt down
Tyler Smith in the 1st round - COMPLETE board melt down

that's just top of my head.

Yea I always think how much better we would be if Jerry wasn't involved but then I read people on this forums post and think to myself...**** maybe Jerry isn't that bad.

I continually said last season that Steele was a better overall player than La'el.

Who was pouting about La'el Collins? His play was as bad as the grammar in his name. He sucked.
Lmao actually the grammar is correct for the pronunciation. Lael is a different name then La’el, two different pronunciations.

Lol. Ok. And every team would rush to sign him if he became available…EVERY TEAM. That makes him elite.

Don't know what "signable" has to do with "elite" but I guess it makes you happy to think that way rather than just have a realistic view of our players.

I was concerned about Steele and it is good to see he has turned out to be a good player. Like the Cooper deal, my issues with cutting Collins has always been about the way they did it and that fact they got nothing for him.

The Cowboys trashed La'el in the media, then proclaimed if they could not find a trade partner they would cut him. At that point there was no chance to get a draft pick for him. Imagine taking an ad out in the local newspaper that you want to sell your car but if no one makes an offer you will eave it at the curb with the keys and title for anyone to take.

Collins has been awful this season so far but he is dealing with a bad back and an ankle injury.

Collins was an absolute selfish turd of a player and a human. I can not stress enough what an unreliable piece of human trash he was. So glad he is finally gone. He should have been made an example of much sooner. Gregory was in a very similar boat. The team is much better off without either of them.

Yeah, random post popping up about how the team needs to get smarter by getting rid of dumb players… do so and it’s shrill screaming. He was dumb when he was here in Louisiana at LSU and he carried it right into the pros. His base would have jumped from around 1.8m last year to a bit over 10m this year. That’s 10m for an out of shape, often injured, dumb player that was saved!

AS of right now, all 3 decisions by the FO are panning out.

Cowboys are 2-1 with Cooper Rush at QB. We dont miss gregory or Collins for a minute. And although the team would be better with Cooper we have managed to weather the absence of Gallup without him.

So this means Tyler Smith is the 27th ranked LT in the NFL for one game or the entire season?
