Can We Talk About TJ Bass?

it still stings when I watch Buffalo run over people with Connor McGovern at center after we kicked him to the curb.
McG plays left guard for the Bills.

Connor Williams went to the Dolphins & switched to center.

Biadasz and Steele are weaknesses on the OL. Both should be backups. Put Bass at center, draft a RT and hope Tyron Smith can hold up one more year while trying to find his replacement. Also, come up with new run plays. Its the same damn run play every time into the middle of the line, which gets blown up because Biadasz sucks.

Lot of potential there and he is showing it right away unlike our first rd pick
We lucked out truly in our acquisition of OL this offseason
WE just might have no need to draft more than one more high up
Basically we need to think on Steele; though we are kind of locked in due to Jerry stupidity there.
If he makes it all the way back he is good enough to win with but at the same time we can do better
Actually center is the area of real concern in my book: Biadasz is just not good enough; and he regressed this year. I had hopes he would take another solid step further and we could resign him with some confidence but I have pretty much given up on him
Tyler will not be resigned. TJ Bass will be your day one starter at center next season. Book it. And I think we all know who will be our starting left guard next year.

id have to go back and elook but I thought he just priced himself out of dallas. The cowboys not unlike Connor williams liked Mcgovern they just had to let him go due to $$. Dont think they necessarily kicked him to the curb but i could be wrong
You're not wrong. You're exactly right. And thanks for correcting the other guy. It's the same reason we didn't keep the left guard that we sent to Miami. They wanted too much money. And we could replace them.

Nah. If Bass is a backup G on both sides next year, so be it. Tyler Smith is one of the best guards in football, you don't move him, you build around him.

Bass' real value, potentially, is in allowing Zack Martin to walk after 2024.
Except LTs are extremely hard to find, and Tyler was a pretty good one last year. It's going to be an interesting off season.

I just watched every offensive snap like 5x to watch each OL, and TJ Bass and Tyron were neck and neck for best lineman and the others weren’t even close.

TJ Bass is an NFL starter. Not a future starter. A starter. He gave up one bad play on a stunt where the DL CLEARLY grabbed him and held him from recovering.

He is quick, plays with sneaky leverage, and does an incredible job getting to the second level and sealing guys off. He’s also very disciplined. The only negative I see is that he can sometimes have trouble with quick (think Osa) DLs that try to flash around him, but he will get better with that as time goes.

I encourage everyone to watch the 1st qtr of the Commanders game and just watch how much better he is than Biadasz and Hoffman. He barely moves back on pass plays and executed on run plays beautifully.

Cannot wait to see this guy with an offseason in the weight room.
Great post. Thank you.

I like Bass and think he is a starter. Dude just fights and does his job. No glamour for the big ugly in the trenches.
