Can You Admit You Gave Up On The Season?

I gave up when the Eagles were 10-1. I thought they’d finish with 14 wins easily. I thought a second round loss was inevitable.

After the Miami game I felt like Tampa may beat us in the first round.

Now, I feel good about our chances to reach the NFC Championship, but one of these games beforehand will definitely be a gut check. This team isn’t just gonna waltz through the playoffs.

It wasn't the loss to the 9ers, or even the Eagles, but there were a few dark moments after the back to back Bills and Dolphins. I did settle for 5th place.
But this team weathered the storm clouds and grabbed the East.

What's your story.
I have been on the bandwagon all season long...che king my voting history in the game poll!

BTW, that is why the season is 17 games long...not 6.

I never came close to giving up on the season. I will admit, I'm coming close to giving up on the NFL. I'm so tired of seeing the refs play such a dominate role...and get it wrong while they do. I challenge anyone to go watch the tap of today's game and focus just on Parsons. See how many legit holding calls there should have been. Still, today's game was nice because it wasn't constant. They made a few calls that they should make and weren't out there like they were the show.

The NFL needs to have full-time refs. They need to be held accountable for getting things wrong...in some way...some fashion.

I can take losing. I just don't like losing with the feeling that it was lopsided because of a bias or, even worse, ineptitude. With competent refs, I honestly believe the Cowboys wouldn't have lost to the Eagles the first game. I don't think it was the refs goal to "get the Cowboys." I think they just aren't any good and as a result it ends up really lopsided sometimes.

If I walk away from a season, I think I'm walking away to do other things. Probably for good.

I’ll admit it

And I’m no Dak fan, still am not…but he played good today and had a good year

See what happens in playoffs….i don’t even care about regular season anymore

I figured that Dallas could lose another game and I figured that the Eagles would drop more than Dallas. But even I didn’t see the Eagles cratering to the extent they have.

I've never been out on them

But I still don't trust them.

They are great when playing downhill. But I don't trust them in a close game at the end.

I don't trust Dak or McCarthy to win a close game decided on the last 3 minutes. They make stupid decisions . They almost blew the Lions game.

I started to give up after the Bills blowout and then letting the Dolphins game slip away. But I didn't anticipate the Eagles' historic collapse either. Securing the #2 NFC seed was huge in saving the season IMO. Yet I'm still convinced that if we can't run the ball in the playoffs, it's going to bite us at some point. Defense is vulnerable against the chunk plays and if teams can get a lead on the Cowboys and get pressure on Dak, then I don't like our chances. But hey who knows! I can see a scenario where the Rams get hot and beat the Lions and 49ers on the road and we beat the Packers and the Eagles or Bucs at home and end up playing the Rams at home in the NFCCG. Anything's possible!

Everyone thought there was no way the Eagles were gonna lose to the Giants or Cardinals, the Cowboys were already predetermined at #5. Guess that's why they play the game.
Obviously. Nobody can predict the collapse of a team that started 10-1. The eagles lost 5 out of their last 6. I can’t remember a team tanking so badly against bad teams. The Eagles are in the playoffs on the merits of the first 11 games but they are currently one of the worst teams in the national football league.

Point being , they lost the division more so than we won it. The division was handed to us.

For whatever reason, I was very calm headed after the Philly loss when many thought that marked the end of our chances. I figured things would even out a bit and we’d still have a chance — an outside chance? — at the division.

Where I admittedly waved the white flag was as it relates to our chances against the Niners. I still am down on that matchup — and if we’re fortunate enough to advance to play them, I’ll simply be hoping Lady Luck shines on our side.
