I’ve thought we are a tier 2 team since the SF lose. I still think that and we would be a 5th if not a 1-5 skid by the Eagles which is unbelievable.

2 home games means we could indeed get to the Championship game, but I have a hard time truly believing we can go beat SF when they have knocked us out the last two years. Maybe home that game is different, but away, I haven’t seen anything to make me think that will be a close game.
So you’ve given up.

We had some major luck. Anything other than a total collapse by Philly would have put us on the road next weekend.
How about the Chief receiver dropping the winning td against the Eagles.

Darkest moments were the Eagles and 49ers losses.

49ers loss... thought they would at least be competitive. Remember, we were off to a great start along with 49ers beginning of the year vs other teams.

Eagles loss... close game that I thought we blew. Both games we could have sent a message that it was a different Cowboys team, but looking back, I think we had the right balance of adversity.

Not as down after the Buffalo or Miami losses but knew that Detroit was a must win game.

Sometimes in sports, it's about luck as much as hard work, smart play, and talent. I felt the luck start to go our way in Detroit's game and it hasn't stopped yet.
The Jimmy Curse has been lifted. HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS?!

The Eagles winning against us, Kansas City, and Buffalo. They won all three games under weird circumstances.

I gave up on the season after the loss to the 49ers. I gave up on them winning on the road in the play-offs after the losses to Miami and Buffalo. I think they have a shot but they need to focus and get past Green Bay. I like our chances against everyone in the NFC except the 49ers.

i definitely settled for 5th place, but let's be honest, the eagles collapse the past few weeks set us up better than we did ourselves. We did what we needed to at the end, but luck was definitely on our side after losing to the bills & dolphins.
I think the Iggles’s monumental implosion was not luck. I prefer to think of it as “Justice.”

Iggles backed up the Brincks truck to Jalen Hurts. Cost them what, 60%+ of their Super Bowl roster? Jalen Hurts is a run option QB, he's not a Super Bowl caliber QB, especially on an inferior roster. Iggles were feasting on luck and riding that stupid tush push for quite awhile. Then it all came apart and it's glorious.

This season has been filled with a lot of luck. I mean discovering depth on the roster after losing Shultz to another team and Diggs to injury, with guys who probably are even better.

It wasn't the loss to the 9ers, or even the Eagles, but there were a few dark moments after the back to back Bills and Dolphins. I did settle for 5th place.
But this team weathered the storm clouds and grabbed the East.

What's your story.
I am still not convinced.
Did we win the east, or did the egirls gift wrap it for us?

I'm optimistic right now, like I keep saying, but the Cowboys still need to prove to me they can win a playoff game against a worthy opponent. Right now, we are all euphoric after the win, but we gotta keep in mind that it was against a Team that was in play in the contest of worst team in the NFL this season, and even then, at the beginning of this game the way they were gambling, if they kept the momentum up, things might of turned out differently. We still have a lot to prove.

Good thread. I certainly can admit that after the SF game that I predicted that DC would not win more than 6 games this year. Pleasantly surprised and happy how the season played out. While there are certainly weak spots that we must overcome it is up to the coaching staff to scheme and put us in the best position to win and get to the SB. GO BOYS!!!!!!

I always said the Cowboys would win the division and gain that #2 seed. I was chastised and ridiculed for it.

After the 49ers game I didn’t give up, bit I finally brought myself to lower my expectations.

I still thought that Dallas would win 12ish games, but I had basically resigned to the fact that a divisional playoff appearance was about as good as it would get.

Since then, I probably think that we can get to the NFCCG, but I have a hard time believing that they could win it in the event of a 49ers rematch.

That being said, the remainder of the book on this season is yet to be written. Let’s see what’s in store.
