Can't expect much from Claiborne

nope - I am pretty even keeled

so please tell me how this helps him - got a knee injury now has a shoulder problem

So it was a bad trade because he got hurt this early in his career? That is nothing but being short sighted.

Might be injuried mostly but he still plays. Haven't missed games like Felix, Miles, Lee, Carter, Dez, Murray etc. didn't look great but wasn't bad. Had an INT last year and a fumble for a td and think he will improve this year. Personally I think Janoris Jenkins was the best CB in that draft anyways but we have Claiborne and will support all Cowboys players.

I think this is a case of him not really being in football shape. It is a shame because I feel this will really limit is play making ability.

We are one week into a 17 week season, and this kid is 1 year into his career. Labeling it a "bad trade up" at this point is a bit premature.

He's made of glass. He was injured before we even drafted him I think. I agree with the Jenkins comparisons. He gets hurt anytime he has to tackle. That is, whenever he is in position to tackle anyone.

Well, it seems to me that Mo isn't ready to play yet.. Be it scheme, health, lack of practice....... It's kind of irrelevant. He was picked on like Jacques last night. Not saying he can't improve, but he is a total liability at this point.

I will admit I'm starting to worry a bit about Mo, but the difference with him out there or not is so drastic that we should be happy to have him out there.

Some guys take longer than others, and Mo might be one of those guys but the problem with that is with that high of a pick you expect them to be ready earlier. It has taken a while for Tyron to look as good as he did last night, might take a while for Mo also.

Meanwhile, cornerback Claiborne will not require surgery on his left shoulder

according to a source, but he will likely wear a harness of sorts for added protection.

there goes his arm movement

what a bad trade up

This is the definition of "knee jerk reaction".

I'm not even close to throwing in the towel on Mo but I will say this: if we could go back in time, there's no way we trade up to take him 6th overall.

At the very least, he hasn't resembled a special CB by any stretch of the imagination.

Oh, and he can't stay healthy.

it was a bad trade up period - for guy being made of glass - woulda coulda shoulda

It is not just the injury bug, but the fact that he hasn't been that good even for a rookie. There is several CBs that was drafted much lower than him that had much better rookie seasons .

If he is injury prone (way to early to tell)...that can't really be used to evaluate the trade.

You make decisions with knowledge currently available. Not in hindsight.

Overreaction as usual. I expect it after a loss but not after a win. Especially against one of the best receiving groups in the league.

In my mind it was a bad trade at the time - so it always will be - bet you he goes on IR before game 6

not what I was expecting from a number 6 player in the draft

We have a completely new defensive system, one that emphasizes zone when Mo is a 'man cover', he's in his second year and missed a ton of time at practice and all of preseason and he was matched up against a qb who won 2 superbowls throwing to one of the better receivers in the league. What did anyone expect? Cornerback is a position that takes time to learn and play in the NFL. In the cornerback position, Patrick Peterson didn't look impressive outside of his returns. Prince Amukamara didn't look like a great pick his first year... but these guys are coming around. Give him time to acclimate to a new defensive style of play and let him get his conditioning back and then we'll be better able to assess his talent.

Hope you're right. He did look extremely bad when Nicks beat him early he wasn't even close to him. Made it look very easy.

That play wasn't on Claiborne, we were in cover 2 and all 3 of our LBs bit hard on the play action leaving the middle of the field wide open. Mo had outside leverage and Nicks should have been passed off to our LBs.
