We are going to be in cap hell if we keep these three. Parsons is going to want the world. Should we consider trading Prescott, Parsons and Lamb? Can we get a first round pick for Prescott and Lamb and maybe two for Parsons? Take a QB with best pick. Take a LB & OL with the next 2.

Tell me you don't understand the salary cap without saying you don't understand the salary cap.

I really wish people would understand this and wring hands less
Technically there is not cap hell.

All situations are different. saints have continued pushing it and are against the wall now.

We simply resign Dak and restructure Martin and Diggs and have over $25 million in space

As long as the cap keeps going up you can manage it.

Cap hell came when the cap was stagnant.

Go to your mirror, look in it and say “There is no such thing as cap hell in the NFL unless a team wants to use it as an excuse?”

Correct and I believe extending CD gives us some room too

According to Over the Cap, simply restructuring Dak's last year (because of the Void years built in), Martin, and Diggs gives them $22M+ in cap room. Then, if they extend CeeDee, that would probably drop his $17M+ cap hit down to $10M or less. So, they could EASILY have $30M in Cap Space for FA WITHOUT EXTENDING DAK. And, they would have $95M+ in '25 with 40 players signed.

The salary cap is real. "Cap Hell" exists. Dead money results in fewer salary cap dollars available.
Yes- restructures can kick the can down the road.
Yes- the salary cap increases over time.
None of that changes the fact that every team has limited salary cap dollars.
The idea that "Cap Hell" is a myth or does not exist is one of the dumbest ideas ever. Sure, you can restructure Dak, sign Parsons to a record deal, etc..., but don't pretend that doesn't limit available cap dollars in the future- no matter how much the cap increases.

Ezekiel Elliott will count $6M against Dallas's 2024 salary cap. Those are real, current dollars. That's $6M that cannot be used to bring in a quality free agent, or used to retain a current player.

No amount of future increases in the salary cap change that fact.

Just one example. "Cap Hell" is shades of grey.
