Dudes are gonna get cut.Because Chuckles still has the first nickel that daddy gave him.
It's more like cap purgatory. If there is no cap hell that why can't we sign tier I free agents?
There is a way out of this mess. It's more like cap purgatory.
Hes too predictable. Dak will get re-signed. I have close to zero expectations for Lance taking over now. There is a way out of this mess.
Jerry made that Lance trade for a reason.
Few more weeks. This thing could go either way.
28 million for Martin hmmm love the guy but he and Smith gotta go.cutting DLaw post June 1 saves 10 million
Dak of course saves 34 million
Gallup saves 9.5 million
Cap problems solved.
I think it's more realistic to expect them to extend Dak while also making other moves to open up space as needed. The Lamb extension is probably a given, though, considering his cap hit. But, yeah, if the team wants to open up space to sign free agents, it can easily do that. The Joneses just don't believe in spending on outside FAs, and I see no reason to expect that to change.According to Over the Cap, simply restructuring Dak's last year (because of the Void years built in), Martin, and Diggs gives them $22M+ in cap room. Then, if they extend CeeDee, that would probably drop his $17M+ cap hit down to $10M or less. So, they could EASILY have $30M in Cap Space for FA WITHOUT EXTENDING DAK. And, they would have $95M+ in '25 with 40 players signed.
So by your logic Daks 60 million cap hit was planned by the brilliant front office so Dak would hold all the cards in contract demands, or in other words the plan was to extend Dak regardless of his play good or bad, again giving him all the cards in what will be a one way negotiation at 60 to 65 million a year and a no trade clause and in 3 or 4 years the last year hit will be a lot worse, brilliant cap managementSo do fans actually believe they reworked these contracts to go $20 million over the cap in 2024, without some type of plan to get back under it?
And doing so without adversely affecting the team.
We know they do some dumb things, but not this dumb. Well, wait, let me think about that some more.
cap goes up. contracts get reworked. the hell comes when players move on and you take on the dead money. eventually everyone will get there. We are going to be in cap hell if we keep these three. Parsons is going to want the world. Should we consider trading Prescott, Parsons and Lamb? Can we get a first round pick for Prescott and Lamb and maybe two for Parsons? Take a QB with best pick. Take a LB & OL with the next 2.
Uh, hence the last line of my post.So by your logic Daks 60 million cap hit was planned by the brilliant front office so Dak would hold all the cards in contract demands, or in other words the plan was to extend Dak regardless of his play good or bad, again giving him all the cards in what will be a one way negotiation at 60 to 65 million a year and a no trade clause and in 3 or 4 years the last year hit will be a lot worse, brilliant cap management
at 24 spot? in a light QB year. most of the good ones go in top 10. very few in 35 years were drafted in the 20s and below. Rodgers, is the only elite who got drafted in the 20s. the rest are good QBs who needed strong teams around them to succeed. our issue is not just QB, its roster building. Jerry the GM is not capable of that.Dak, Martin, and Parsons.
DRAFT A REAL QB FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 35 FLIPPIN YEARS!
Sorry about that guess I misunderstood, rereading I see your sarcasm nowUh, hence the last line of my post.
cap hell exists when your FO uses misinformation to justify their lack of activity to fans. the effects are the same.I really wish people would understand this and wring hands less
Don't extend Prescot, if he can be traded then trade him. If he refuses, then start either Rush or Lance in his place and let him sit on the bench and make his $60 million dollars while the Cowboy Nation comes down on him week out and week in for his refusal to be traded. Use this year's 1st, 2nd or whatever it's going to take to move up in the draft to get a QB with WINNING BIG GAME college experience, someone who put his team on his shoulders and took them to the next level. We are going to be in cap hell if we keep these three. For Dallas, a trade = Post June 1 cut. [saves $34 million in 2024 cap]Don't extend Prescot, if he can be traded then trade him. Wait. That's bad? LolAnyone that believes there is no cap hell probably pays their bills with a credit card. LOL
