Cap impact is not bad to move on from Dak

All,

It's not that bad to move on from Dak in 2024. The cap hit is much better than I expected as long as we do it post June1st.
In 2024, the Dead Cap would be $ 25 million and the cap savings would be 34 Million.
In 2025 we would still owe 25 million in Dead cap and 11 million in cap savings.

Cutting him before June 1st would be devastating as all 64 Million would hit the cap this year.

This is the perfect time to move on. Get off of Dak and McCarthy. You have not and will not win with them

Yes. This is correct. Really with how the contract is structured their only options this offseason are to extend Dak or move on.

I hope for moving on.

Hmm that's better than I expected.

I don't think they'll do it, especially if McCarthy stays.

However, if Mike is fired and we bring in someone new, that someone might want a different QB.

Our other hope is that the draft falls our way and a top-ish QB is miraculously there at 24.

I think you ride with Lance or draft someone. This QB class is deep. There will be a first round prospect in striking range with a trade up.
Agreed, if the teams has some willingness to maneuver there will be players available. Let Dak go to another city, I am sure he will get picked up.

Standing pat will get us nowhere. Time to make a tough decision, like trading Walker was for Jimmy back in 89. We can’t get rid of our only asset.
Hell I feel the same way about Micha if someone gives us a 1 and a 2 I take it.

If the Boys move on from Dak, I hope they get something for him rather than just designating him as a post-June 1st cut.
He has a no trade clause. If they're letting him go it's better for him to be a FA, so don't expect him to waive it.

Frankly I'll believe the Cowboys are willing to move from him this year when I see it. They're more apt to extend and lower his cap hit, because Jones boys.

The offseason will likely be much better for everyone once we realize what we want to happen or some want to happen isn’t likely happening and that every scenario starts with dak 100% being qb of the team for next season and a few after.

Lol. Yes...let's cut him and get nothing. Brilliant!

Only way I move on from Dak is a trade and a haul.
Sure trade him but be ready to take the $64 million cap hit immediately.
I personally think he is tainted and has a huge contract, this is not like getting a young guy like Fields who has upside and can be had for a 2nd or third. Another idea…
There a guys out there is Jerry will look.

You have to bring in Belichick imo.

If you stick with Dak and pay him you know you can’t win with him while also giving him elite QB money.

Like seriously what are we doing here at this point.

You saw what that QB gets you on the big stage and you’ve seen it over and over.

You pay him like he just won a Superblwl then you gotta bring in Belichick.

If you aren’t getting Belichick it’s time to think about starting over at QB.

Dak is tradable. His no trade clause can be negotiated. He’s not going to want to be in Dallas if he’s not wanted. But I’m pretty sure Jerry is going to extend him.
