Cap Space with Dak now signed

Good thing Jerry gave a premium contract to a 5 sack DE and made the out of shape Cabo King the highest paid back in the league. This Dak contract will also assure Gallup is gone because GM Jerry gave $100 million to an overweight guy that only likes to play at home. Lastly good thing he gave $60 plus to the Sunglasses King as well. All those crappy contracts are going to cost Dallas players like Gallup that can actually play.

I don’t care what people say. I’m not paying Gallup 20 million a per he’s going to get next year

Go look at his deal. We literally cannot afford to pay him over the next 3 years. His deal MUST be restructured.

How would lowering his cap hit this season help pay him over the next couple of years? It would literally make his cap hit higher in remaining years on his current contract.

I don't think an extension is the answer either unless it was team friendly. But I'm sure he'll look to get paid once more.

Thats not how it works. You restructure his contract, pay him a fat signing bonus , and spread it out over 5 years.

It depends on how and when they decide to restructure also. They should be able to restructure some of the base salaries and spread them down the road also. I think that will all depend on how the future cap is looking with upcoming TV deals.

But yes. I agree. They need to go for it now.

they have the offense set.
Restructure some deals, get some cap space, sign some defensive FA’s and draft defense with your high picks you have this year.

it’s time to go for the jugular.
Like your thinking!

Well his cap hits will eventually implode.

This is what happened with Crawfords deal. He had a couple of years where had the front office not done anything to his original deal, they could've got out of his deal much earlier.

And Philly and the Rams have done a lot of this as well. Reason why they are in a terrible cap situation.

Lawrence hasn't produced enough to prove he is a player that you want for the entire contract.

Cooper and Martin have been consistent.

Well now you definitely aren’t because you are paying the heavy looking guy that.

Is the other way around, the ppl that love Dak and this deal wouldn't care about the cap.
Oh no it's both. Even if Dak signed the same deal he did coming out of the draft today, haters would still hate him and the cowboys

Philly and LA are in bad cap spots b/c they overpaid their mediocre QBs.......just like we just did. Lawrence was the only guy on defense who played well last year. PFF graded him out in the top 5 last year.

Well we just gave Dak big money and he earned it.

But Lawrence's deal was restructure at the beginning of the season to make room for Dak's deal this year. No need to restructure it now.

And I agree, Lawrence is the best player on defense, but he is getting paid the most out of everyone on defense also by far.

He was not restructured last year. He signed a 5 year deal in 2019. We can restructure him now or take a 25M cap hit this year which would give us an out in 2022.

Dak was 1-3 last year and he got paid 31.7M. He was 8-8 the year before. This team is bad. Paying Dak more money doesn't magically improve it.
