Caption This (Dez @ Charity game)

It's not just him but not many players like the franchise tag.

That's not what I'm talking about. Like it or not, signing the tag guarantees him 13m.

If he gets hurt working out or playing on his own he gets nothing.

He won't sign the tag because he wants security but signing the tag brings him security.

That's what I don't understand..... what incentive does Dez have to not sign his tag? It's not like signing the tag prevents him from negotiating a long-term deal, right? Or am I off base with this assumption?

If he signs the tag he can be fined if he decides to skip training camp. If he doesn't sign the tag, he can't be fined because he is not under contract.

Ahhh yes. Forgot about that, thanks. A little brain fart on my end... no pun intended. :)

That could have been a broken neck, had he not stuck the landing. Not the brightest of things to do, when you are trying to get more money from your team.

Yeah but you don't think negatively about every thing you do, worst case scenario. It's not likely he breaks his neck from a simple back flip

Guys have tore ACLs doing a lot less. Like sack celebrations and made FGs.

True... I mean any time we get into a car, we're risking death. Dez shouldn't be allowed to drive anymore.

Yeah, I know you can argue that driving or traveling in general is a necessity, and back flips are not. But I believe that having fun is a necessity, and if doing back flips brings Dez joy, then it's worth the risk IMO.

Yes but often does that happen? All that guy did was jump and he tore his acl. You can't live life being overly cautious as well. That's like me saying I'll never go play basketball because people have torn their acl before doing it

Yeah but he looks awful stupid for getting hurt showing off.

And if you might lose 20m+ getting hurt playing BBall that would be very stupid as well.

Lol relax bro it's just a back flip

To some, it's a great athletic feat. I never understood why most people think it's crazy. My 8 year old does them. Me, I need a diving board lol...

It's kind of silly that he won't sign the tag that guarantees him at least 13m because he wants more security.

Dez hasn't signed the tag now because it makes no business sense to do so before July 15th. You knew that right?

But you can get hurt doing anything. You can get hurt by doing nothing (when someone else is at fault). So why not just do what makes you happy?

You can get hurt just as easy jogging. If your halfway athletic, let alone one of the best athletes in the world, doing a back flip is like tying your shoes. C'mon guys. Dez isn't a 40 year old office manager, or weekend warrior lawyer who plays basketball at lunchtime.

It has nothing to do with July 15th, you know that right? It just means teams can't sign him to an offer sheet anymore.

He can sign the tag and still get a new deal before July 15th.

It means if he gets hurt working out or practicing the 12.8m is guaranteed.

Being a pro athlete changes everything. Risking millions to show off is stupidity. Especially when you are whining about long term security............Duh..........
