I still feel like we had other bigger needs than another TE. Yes, we got a center, but how about a guard, or someone on DL...safety....c'mon!!

I don't get why people think we need a safety. Maybe a backup safety but we can get that 4th round or later. I'm just not sure about getting a TE right now either. He might have been the best player available on our board. That's really only reason to draft him.

These type of highlight videos suck. You get no idea of what the guy can do.

Offenses are moving to 2 TEs and these big fast WR/TEs. This guy has game.

Looks like he does a really good job of catching the ball even with tight coverage. Could create some match up issues for us on O. If he was rated high on our board, why not?

There is another YouTube video profiling him, he's a painter and oh by the way, is a huge giants fan. Paints pictures of Brandon Jacobs, his favorite player at the time, and Plexico Burress. Has them hanging on his wall.

I could be fine with the pick if we actually use him. Fasano and Bennett felt like such underutilized wastes for the majority of their careers. If this is is a sign of us looking at the Grahams and Gronkowski's and saying we want one of our own, and he turns out to be that very thing, it could potentially change the dynamic of our offense. Does this guy catch 40 balls this year? Or does he catch 12? It's the latter that scares me.

Either way, your immediate takeaway with this pick is...a tight end?

such a waste of a pick.

if he turns out to be Witten II, you won't think so even if we needed a player desperately at another position. I think this guy is the real deal. If he learns to be a decent blocker there sure isn't anyone that can cover him. LB's will be too slow and DBs too small. It'll be the same matchup nightmare Witten gives teams. I love the player although I do admit that I would've picked a need position. I have a hard time seeing much bust potential with this kid, he's a stud. There's plenty of room for 3 TEs on the team and heaven forbid Witten get injured and not be able to play (although he's played through a lacerated spleen, helmetless, and broken jaw).

So Dallas TEs not named Witten last year combined for 16 catches for the year...

Makes sense to spend a premium pick on a TE when we obviously love to incorporate TEs not named Witten in the passing game.

Not crazy about another TE with our second pick in this year's draft, but the kid can ball. Definitely a BPA pick. If he turns out to be a stud, which something tells me he probably will be, this won't even be an issue.

...... he'll be too slow to stretch the field in the NFL. and whoever said he would help the red zone offense.... just smh. we spent a second rounder on a second string tight end. for the second time in... four years?
