Carolina MNF is it a big game?

This isn't baseball or basketball. There are only 16 games. They are all must win games.

Yes, we need a rebound game against a decent team. Confidence builder.

It's a fair question, since so many clowns decided that Romo's poor game Sunday night is indicative of his inability to "win the big game".

I have a feeling a lot of bridge-jumpers are climbing back onto the wagon late Monday night.

I'll say it this way. It's an important game.

The more you drop games now the smaller your margin for error later - lets say, uh December?

I said last week that as exciting an opportunity that the Giants game represented it was not "must win" nor was it a HUGE game. It was a barometer game to tell us where we're at. We're all disappointed with where were at but there is time to change that.

Winning last week wouldn't have clinched the division or a playoff berth. Losing it doesn't now preclude those things. Its a ridiculous statement but its a good reminder.

I am much more concerned with the health & how this team plays in November & December than I am any single game in September & October. That said, we need to win enough in Sept/Oct for Nov/Dec to be meaningful.

Some folks treat each of these games with ridiculous finality. This is a marathon. And we are well within striking distance win or lose this week.

Of course, I greatly prefer a win :)

It's a must win game like every game....But it's a not a Big game so to speak.

The panthers are a struggling team with a QB that has regressed badly.

This is the correct answer. One loss in football is equivalent to a 10 game losing streak in baseball.

All football games are important.

It's a big game in the sense if we lose again on Monday, this board will explode, I mean literally explode. To me all games are big unless u already have home field locked up. To go 0-2 at home to start the season, both primetime games, new stadium.......EXPLODE

I thought Big games were against good teams or direct playoff implication on the line. Divison rivals or something.

The panthers are one of the easier games on the schedule...it's a important game obviously. But it's not a quote on quote BIG GAME.

It's a game Dallas should win...

Its almost humorous to contrast this board after a win versus a loss. Watch who posts when we win, and watch who posts when we lose. There is of course some overlap.

But the "realists" are much more prevalent after a loss and the "homers" pretty much let them have run of the board. Posting optimism after a loss can send the realists into a tirade that does no one any good.

Likewise, after a good win, the optimism flows much more freely and unchallenged.

as we've seen before, nothing that happens the 1st 8 weeks really matters

10 really

so no, not a big game

if we need this game to get a shot at the playoffs because of tiebreakers, because we have another 2nd half like we've been having, then it will turn out to be an important game

If the Cowboys lose, it was a big game. If they win, it wasn't.
If they win they are just beating a team they are supposed to beat. The panthers have a running game and that's it. People need to watch their games more. They are not a good team.

If they lose then I dont even know what to say...WOW

It is a big game because it is against another NFC team.
It is a big game for the team to show it can rebound after a tough loss.
It is a big game because the team needs all the wins they can get.

This.

It is a bigger game since we lost a conference/division game last week. Still I don't see this game as a game we would look back to next year and pin our season on.

The game last week is the one you needed. Lose Monday and go 9-3 the rest of the way and it is likely irrelevent.

So no...not a big game, but it will be sold as one.
