Then a certain mod went against the grain with out sharing it with the rest of you because I assure you I received the PM's as certain as I'm sitting here breathing.

Taking you off ignore for a moment: is the heart of your argument really that people were justified in acting like idiots to Pittdawg because the mods on the board really wanted everybody to show some class to a family member of one of our players? Because that's not a very good justification.

If I were getting PMs at the time from mods because my behavior in a chat room was offensive to somebody's family on a personal level, I'd shut my mouth about it and hope to learn from my mistake rather than justifying it with more nonsense relating to how oppressed you felt at the time by the board's volunteer moderators going out of the way to police you when you were unable to do the job properly yourself.

No, no, no not at all! The personal attacks were ugly and uncalled for. As I stated I never took it to a personal level against Pittdawg. To me, he was treated as any member of this board. There were times we agreed and time we disagreed. It was never personal on my end with Pittdawg even though as Hos said, it happened and was ugly.

If you suck and are doing a terrible job, you are holding the team back.

Typical. when a person is doing his best, leaving all he has out on the field, there is NO JUSTIFICATION for posting hate on him. I really dislike the proctologist, but even there I admit I have never seen any real sign that he is not doing the best he can. Sad thing is his best is not very good.

Ah, SDogo, then I misunderstood and owe you an apology. I thought you were saying you were PM'd on the topic and I mistook that to mean the mods were warning you.

In my mind, there's a huge difference between venting frustration on players on a message board when it's nothing more than blowing off steam anonymously, and doing the same thing when you know you're communicating with that person's family or to the person's face. I don't remember who the culprits were, but I do recall being embarrassed for them when it was going on. The mods were a lot more lenient than I would have been, I think. I'd have just started shutting down user accounts.

One person who shall remain nameless posted that Pittdawg and his wife should have aborted Rob. How exactly is that "honest commentary" on his abilities?

The kid was physically beat up, struggling, and yet Parcells kept him out there. Parcells gets a pass and the kid continues to get beat up.

It disgusts me. It always has.

Well Hoss who did we have to replace Pettiti? We were flat out of options and even injured he was the best we had. Which is pretty sad in itself. With Flo out we found out the hard way how thin we were at tackle.

That's alright, looking back over the posts I can see how what I said may have been misunderstood even though I thought I made it clear.

You know Hos I do owe you an apology. Looking back at those threads it was never really the mods who seemed to protect him beyond what they would for anyone else as it was some of our posters. To be honest outside my isolated incident the mods handled it VERY well considering some of the things that were said.

I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong and this appears to be one of those cases.

In all honesty, I'll take the heat for this because with out looking I do believe that was my post. I'm not going to hide from that fact. With that said, I was not about to expect any less from a starter on our team despite his draft position then I would any other. I highly doubt Hamlin or Barbie would be getting a free pass right now if they were a 6th round picks.
