Oh well...I guess I'll just have to quit watching football all together, because it is painfully obvious that the Dallas Cowboys would be better off if a monkey made our draft picks.

The fan base can only look at what should have been and never what can be. No one cares about any player on this team except to say he shouldn't be on it and who ever is the flavor of the week should have been drafted and look what we coulda had.

Complain, complain, complain...That's all it's about anymore.

I give up...I quit!

Superpunk,

Now that Roaf gone do you think Larry Johnson will hit 1,700 yards this season? Everyone claims that he didn't start all 16 games (though he played on all 16) and could have had over 2,000 yards, but he rushed about as much as everyone else did. (336 attempts to Tiki's 356)

So, with Roaf gone, does he see 1,700 yards again this season? Or does him come back down to earth a bit?

My take is, he could see 1,700 yards again, he just won't get it at 5.2 yards per carry again. Roaf will be missed and Will Shields is in his 14th season. Something has to give.

Lookit - lol. No. These first three games are gonna kill his chances. You think anyone is worried about Damon Huard picking them apart? Kyle Turley is so undersized for that line. He played against a pretty poor run defense, and didn't do much - of course they were down early. I'm not looking forward to it, as I drafted him in my money league 4th overall.

even though the Cowboys and Patriots won 6 of the last 14 Super Bowls with a philopshy nothing like that

having a good OL coach is more important than having pure talent on the OL, you can win in this league with average OL who are technically sound

David

Did you watch the Cowboys in the 1990's - the O-line was a huge factor. To act as if they were a bunch of average talents that got by only on good coaching is ridculous.

Larry Allen is a sure-thing Hall of Famer and can lay a claim to being among the best ever. Erik Williams was only a notch below before alcohol, prostitutes and drunk driving did him in. Stepnoski was a multiple Pro-Bowler who, despite being undersized, was one of the better centers in the game. He used strength, agility and smarts to get the job done. Nate Newton was another dominant player - Hudson Hauk wasn't the guy out there blowing people off the ball. Tuinei is the one guy that I will admit was an average talent that was the beneficiary of good coaching - that and years of experience and knowledge. Gesek and Gogan were good players, though not great, but they fit well with the team and meshed with the ones who were outstanding. Overall, it was a hell of a talented O-line without a weak link in the bunch.

I swear, any player who doesn't show up every game and have HOF highlights every game is a bust and we should have gone elsewhere.

Ridiculous.

To "goof again" would mean that we've made bad first round picks lately. Spears, Newman, and Ware are hardly goof ups.

Let's see, in the last week alone I've learned that we should have drafted Lawson over Carpenter, Castillo over Spears, Jackson over Julius (again), Leftwich over Newman, and Merriman over Ware.

Have we drafted anyone right in the last four years?

Until last year, you could have added James to that list.

Witten's probably the only good decision we've made.

And Lawson would be sitting behind Ellis. It truely is amazing seeing people re-living this past draft after 1 game. You folks need to find a hobby. :laugh2:

What are you talking about. We could have drafted Chris Simms (QB Bucs) and Chris Brown (RB Titans) instead of Witten!!! Mistakes! Always making draft mistakes! :)

People who call Carpenter a bust one game into his career are either

A. Have short term memories and have forgotten the MANY players over the years that don't start or become contributors right away,

B. haven't been fans long enough to have seen much, or

C. haven't been serious enough fans to have noticed.

Calling a guy a bust after one game is about as idiotic as calling a guy a superstar after one game.

QD is full of useless, contradictory statements. He started a great thread last week. A few quotes?

I'm not calling him a bust so calm down.

I'm not calling him a bust.
I'm just saying what everyone is thinking.

And once again, I'm not calling Carp a bust.

Then, the same day

Because he's a bust.

And then, of course, there's today's exhibit.

Umm, Pat Watkins...........:)

Its always like this after a loss. After a win, all these guys will be god's gift to the earth. We are bipolar here, lol.

Carp, the jury is still out. Ware will have a big game soon, and everyone will say, "I told you he was good......." It won't end anytime soon.

Again,, Carp will be a solid NFL LB at some point. He will not be a "special" game turning type of player, I don't believe.

He was too good a college player to be a bust. Give him a break.
