I have been focusing on him a lot this year. This is what I have noticed.

1. He takes just about every play off. I never see him sprinting to the ball.
2. He lets himself get absorbed on blocks. He can't shed a block to save his life. In fact, it appears he walks into blocks just to get occupied and sit there.
3. Because he is never sprinting to the ball, he never makes a downhill tackle.
4. He is completely lost in man or zone coverage responsibilities.

I would comment on his angles, but honestly, I rarely see him pursuing the ball carrier. If they don't run right into him, he is nowhere to be found. He is a failure because of lack of effort.

yea he is just not good period

He's awful and he doesn't care.

Having someone like that on the team is like cancer.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Man, this guy looks like he couldn't give a flying flip.

He takes the WORST angles, and 9 times out of 10 it looks to me like he's jogging.

100% agree. Dude is pathetic.

On a positive note the rest of the D showed up. It is a shame Heath can't somehow get Carter's talent to combine with his effort...

I haven't had the opportunity to focus on him. I did say tonight that it seems he is not in the position to make a play far too often. Perhaps due to what you have stated.

Don't want to see him starting next year

To say he regressed would be an understatement. I was expecting him to play at a Pro Bowl level, but he should be scrubbing bowls.

Yeah. He just doesn't seem to care. Definitely doesn't "love the game" like sean lee. I cant believe how disappointing he has been. He was dominant against atlanta last year and looked so promising. Holloman showed heart and potential tonight. He played well, all things considered, IMO.

I don't think his effort is a problem most of the time.

he looks lackadaisical because he is lost out there. If you have to think, then you're slow.

his instincts are poor.

On the final TD by the Eagles, he was on the backside and read the play. He saw Brown with the ball, but didn't even attempt to get over there.

Completely agree. I don't like using the "c" word when associating with football players, but this guy is a waste of space. Holloman, Lee and Durant to start next season with Wilbur and hopefully another rookie or two to compete for backup spots.

We really need to draft a LB, preferably right after we draft a DT...

Lee is hurt too often so we need to build some serious depth there.

Yep, I agree on basically all points.

yeah but he might be a failure of a poor culture. i mean seriously how many times the last few years have we questioned the effort of individuals on this team. it's sickening.

Carter has been a major disappointment. I agree that he looks like he is either lost or just doesn't care about getting better.

So much for that second round draft pick who was injured in college and had low grades. Dude has no intelligence and it's showing this year.

Well, he'd better be hurt but I know that's not all of it. He's playing for his career next year if it's up to me.
