Catilage is the word they use in Boston and the surrounding area instead of Cartlidge.

You know, Catilage.

:D

Kind of like going to the Bah, or driving in a cah?

dude rib unjurys SUCK for WR's if you cant go up to make a catch your no good to us. a RB yeah you can take the pain like emmitt did on the hits but you would not have seen him raise his arms up to catch a pass(though i know emmitt would have tried) seriously you dont want him out there if he even has a chance of not being able to help.

now if he was drawing double coverage he would be a great decoy but he does not demand those like TO did.

I seem to recall that Darrell Green did this to a rib once for Washington, on a punt return, against the Bears in a playoff game. He had to sit out the NFC Championship game the following week because of it.

I guess Darrell Green, one of the best corners to ever play the game, was a giant wuss too.

Some of you people are completely pathetic. You guys get a hang nail, or a headache, and you call in sick for work. This guy get serious damage to his ribs and he's a wuss.

For your information. I stubbed my big toe against the mattress frame post and had to call in sick. I had turf toe.

Get your info straight there mary.:laugh2:

and he is still a wuss.

Has anyone on this board a) ever had that injury & b) tried to play a football game with said injury? I did in the 11th grade (running back a kickoff and jumped over a guy - got hit in my ribs by a guy that weighed 50+ lbs. more than me). I missed the next 2 games because I couldn't lift my right arm over my head for like 10 days. I had a bruise on my side that went from right below my armpit to my waist.

What's my point? To all you that think that Roy is being a wuss, think again. As the Dr. told me after the game, torn rib cartilage can hurt damn near as much as having your ribs broken. And, he has damge to not just one rib, but 3.

I assure you professional knowledge and therapy sessions for NFL players is going to allow them to heal faster than you in high school.

That being said, who knows if he's able to play or not.

I played through it my senior year. Had 2 ribs with cartilage damage. It's very painful. You CAN play through it. Good chance of making it worse, but you can. It hurts pretty bad when cutting on routes.

what's Roy's excuse for running terrible routes, not creating separation and dropping balls that hit him in the hands? He was a wuss before he hurt his ribs.

Everyone knows how painful this injury is... Or at least, I thought everyone knew.

I just hope Roy is back for Atlanta, because that will be a really good team and we'll need all hands on deck.

Agreed. The bye week comes at a good time for us this year.

Just 3 ribs? Cut 'em off and get that overpaid baby out on the field. Make him earn his check this week.

Hmmmmmm..........how many drops does Roy have then? The TD in the Panthers game. What else? Seriously, name one. He sure as hell didn't come close to dropping anything in the last 2 games. So, again, tell me where all these drops are.

While Emmitt is the man for playing with the shoulder it is different than playing with 3 damaged ribs. Those effect how you breathe(which he says he has asthma which makes it worse) in thinner air than you are used to and any time you stretch.

Blame Romo not Roy. :banghead:

While Romo for most of the game couldn't hit the broad side of the new stadium, I think Williams would have been able to run under that pass and brace for the hit had Champ not chucked him as Romo was throwing the pass, but this is really for another topic.

WOW!!!!!!! Thanks for bringing up the STATS figures kid. Did you see the list for passes not caught? Williams is tied for 19th with a bunch of other folks at 14 passes not caught. Yet, he only has 1 drop. So, what does that tell me? Romo has thrown him A LOT of uncatchable passes.

I can't believe I'm saying this, especially because he did drop his share of passes, BUT T.O. may have had a point regarding Romo and some of his passes last year when complaining about the quality (not quantity) of passes coming his way. Hmmmmmmmmmmm............Romo has to get his mojo back.

Once again stats fool us, and hide the truth. You have to actually make an effort to get OPEN, so the QB can throw your way. Then you either catch it or you don't.

There is a rite of passage to even be considered on a play, and RW has failed there.

This dude has been dead for weeks. At least his replacement on the roster will have a pulse.

you get a concurrence with that partiality. What happens when your QB doesn't see you open across the middle and flicks it out to the flat where the RB is whos blanketed by a linebacker? A quarterback isn't going to see a wide open player all the time, esp one who "locks on" to certain players
