It has been discussed before, I am sure, but what if the Cowboys let Hamlin walk, move Henry to FS and sign Samuels? This is probably the best cap hit situation, but I am not sure that Henry would be able to play up to Hamlin's game.

Would we be better off with a solid second CB and a little less at FS, or do we stand pat?

Who would cost less, Hamlin or Samuels?

Hamlin will cost less because of his position. Samuels will wants a Nate Clemens deal.

Keep Hamlin and draft a cb.

They have to go corner in the draft since the value for corners in free agency is just rediculous. Finding a #2 wr with speed should be priority one in free agency.

Agreed. Samuel is going to cost major money at the CB position. It's going to be much cheaper to keep Hamlin and draft a young CB to hopefully give you a really good 3rd corner and a potential starter in the future.

We can resign Hamlin and pay the rookie for less than what it would cost to sign Samuels.

Requesting an insta-ban for the next person who thinks it would be a good idea to put Henry at FS.

If we draft a CB, he really won't be able to contribute his rookie year. Like having Reeves back there again. If we sign a FA, or acquire a vet somehow, Henry would be a pretty expensive Nickel back.

As much as I love Hamlin's play, we do need to get a CB that will be able to step in and solidify a leaky secondary.

With Davis likely to leave, though, I am not sure we have anyone that can play SS if Hamlin leaves and Roy gets hurt. We could draft a replacement for Roy.

I just can't see us going into next year with teh same starting four in the secondary.

I know...isn't that what I was agreeing with?

Replacing Reeves will improve the secondary. And who says a rookie wouldn't contribute? With Henry's track record a rookie will play alot of minutes.

We should move Henry to FS and Burnett to SS. Then we can move Roy to his natural position at LB. Fasano should be officially moved to FB, making room for Barber at wide receiver and Austin to tight end, while our 1st round pick mans the RB position. Finally, Flozell Adams should be RT because of his hearing, McQuistan should be LG, and Free should be LT, while Kosier mans the gatorade in anticipation of the post-superbowl gatorade bath for Garrett (oh yeah, I moved Wade from HC to DC, as well).

Am I banned yet, or should I go on?

Rookie corners come into the league and contribute quite often. Corner, running back and linebacker are the three places a rookie can play the fastest, relatively speaking.

Actually, I think that's all quite brilliant.

Except the Henry to FS part. That's dumb as a doorknob.

RB is probably the only position that is easier for a rookie to play than CB.

Really? I never realized that corner was so easy to play in the NFL. Must be why there is that over abundance of shut down/really great corners in the league.

I don't think corner is quite that easy to play, rookie or not, or more teams wouldn't have such trouble getting CBs.

Go back and look at 1st round cbs and compare them to other positions. No position is easy, but if you compare them its easier for RBs and CBs to play early than it is other positions.
