Is Henry to FS code for Roy Williams sucks?
I think its code for Hamlin being a free agent. Even though I think he will be signed soon.

Henry is not going to move to FS, they are going to re-sign the best Free Safety to come to Dallas since Woodson (Hamlin) and they are going to look for a 2nd tier guy such as Florence or Gay, a guy that's young and has upside.

It has been discussed before, I am sure, but what if the Cowboys let Hamlin walk, move Henry to FS and sign Samuels? This is probably the best cap hit situation, but I am not sure that Henry would be able to play up to Hamlin's game.

Would we be better off with a solid second CB and a little less at FS, or do we stand pat?

Who would cost less, Hamlin or Samuels?
Leave Henry at CB, draft UTEP's Quintin Demps to replace Roy Williams

I say let Samuels and his need for zone playcalling get overpaid and go after Asmouga or one of the guys thats not as hyped but just as good if not better.

Nnamdi Asomugha will get just as much as Samuels. The nfl scouts know who he is and really the Raiders will be crazy if they let him go. I expect him to be franchised if they can't work out a contract.

Dude, Samuels will want to be the highest paid CB... Bookit!!

We can resign Hamlin and pay the rookie for less than what it would cost to sign Samuels.

I dont think so. He may be worth that much but typically that not how the market works out Trufant is also out there and then tehre are the tier 2 guys like Florence or Carr.

Typically at a position tehre is only one huge splash and then other guys settle for smaller deals. It happened a couple of years ago when Huthchinson got top dollar and then guys like Dielman had to settle. The safety market last year was another example of that with Kevishaun getting a big deal and then players lie Grant settling for less and then Hamlin fell into our lap. I see a glut of corners and a similar situation.

As for the tag, Davis is cheap nowadays and i dont know if hell want to pay a player alost $10 mill for the tag.

Did you see the money OGs got last year Fuzzy? I assure you all three are going to get PAID! CBs are always a high priority in free agency and all three guys are probowl quality corners. I really don't see Asomugha or Trufant even getting to free agency.

You can even go back to when Henry was a free agent. There were three corners considered the top guys; Ken Lucas, Anthony Henry, and Fred Smoot. They all got big contracts.

Diehlman was a free agent last year and got offered a huge deal by Seattle, he decided to stay in SD for a little cheaper but still got paid a huge amount.

I think they need to keep Hamilin and move him to SS, sign Erik Coleman and allow him to compete for the FS job with Watkins/Brown, draft a corner in the first round, keep Reeves for depth purposes and cut that lard-*** strong safety on June 1st. This team needs less fat cats, not more and Roy is the largest cat of the bunch!!
Cutting him would show the team is serious and will no longer tolerate content, undisciplined players.

Henry at SS? That has to be, by far, one of the dumbest moves I've seen yet.

And, again, cutting him and eating 6.6 million dollars just so you can 'show him' is stupid business.

Braveheart,

Cutting Roy:Roy Williams - pb $5,340,000 - 08 sal $3,720,000 = hit $1,620,000 not 6.6million:p:

Have you only observed one move; therefore, the dumbest and best?

Henry to SS is genius  Henry is alreay under contract. There is no difference in FS/SS anymore. Linebackers playing SS is dead.

RCB Truffant LCB Newman CB cromartie FS watkins SS Henry. :omg:

How many times do people have to point out on these forums, it's been pointed out a hundred times in every single one of these threads, that the cap hit WILL be 6.6 million for Roy. It's not a hit of 1.6 or anything like that cause it would already have been done.

His cap hit, if he plays here, is 5.9. If we cut him then you have to add in more pro-rated bonus, thus you add 700,000 ontop of the 5.9. If you cut or trade him you're hitting our cap with a 6.6 cap hit for SOMEONE WHO ISN"T ON THE ROSTER.

How hard is that to understand? Seriously my 6 year old son in kindergarden would understand this.

We should move Henry to FS and Burnett to SS. Then we can move Roy to his natural position at LB. Fasano should be officially moved to FB, making room for Barber at wide receiver and Austin to tight end, while our 1st round pick mans the RB position. Finally, Flozell Adams should be RT because of his hearing, McQuistan should be LG, and Free should be LT, while Kosier mans the gatorade in anticipation of the post-superbowl gatorade bath for Garrett (oh yeah, I moved Wade from HC to DC, as well).

Am I banned yet, or should I go on?

Excellent work! Just add trading Bobby Carpenter for Dexter Coakley (so that Coakley can be traded to Miami for McFadden) and you have a dynasty in the making!

Cutting him after June 1st is different than trading him. After June 1st we can split the cap hit in to two years but it's still a nice big chunk of cap space to eat.

Reeves needs to go screw up some other teams secondary......I'm not saying he's the only players screwing it up but he's a big part of it.

I'm not upset just frusturated that this issue is made out to be a harder to understand one than it is.

It's really not difficult at all and especially when it's been shown at least 50 times, today alone, why they're not going to take on that kind of cap hit and yet people still don't pay attention.

If his cap hit was small, and wouldn't hurt us, I'd be right there will the masses saying to get rid of him and give someone else a shot.

It's simply not a case of being anything nearly that simple, or cheap.
