CB targets at 44?

Cream of the crop after Surtain & Farley:
Jaycee Horn
Eric Stokes
Greg Newsome

Melifonwu is borderline, but more of a late 2nd rounder IMO.

Very good players, but slot only:
Elijah Molden (position flex to FS as well)
Asante Samuel Jr
Aaron Robinson

At 44
Tyson Campbell,
Elijah Molden really smart but I read they view him as a safety.
Shakur Brown Five Interceptions last year
Aaron Robinson
Efeatu Melifonwu
Eric Stokes

From listening to The Draft Show I thought Adebo was mad slow. Ran 4.42 at his pro day.

I like Adebo, seems like a great fit; also like Gowan as a guy we can get later. But I think we'll just narrowly miss out on the next-best tier of CBs at 44, 'cause I think Melifonwu, Stokes, and Newsome all go before that pick because of their measurables. We'd likely be looking at guys like Robinson (too handsy), Samuel (too small), Molden (tweener), Campbell (seems like a good option). Adebo is a good fit for the team, Gowan a guy we could likely get later in the round (by trading down or up if needed).

I think the value at 44 will be DL though. Possibly S.

I would love a day three pick of Robert Rochell. A small school developmental prospect with freakish athletic numbers and a ballhawk too with 12 career takeaways. Maybe he could be Quinn's late round prospect.

Overview
A freakish athlete with outstanding size, length and explosiveness, Rochell has evaluators buzzing about his expected testing numbers. He typically works as a press-man corner but has all the tools necessary to play in a variety of coverages, including Cover 3, where he has displayed an ability to excel with his range and ball skills. His technique and spotty transitions will be quickly discovered and exploited by pro talent so he might require a year for additional work and polish. He attacks throws like the former wideout he is and could become successful at baiting quarterbacks into throws they shouldn't make. The ball production and rare physical traits/abilities could make him a fast riser in this draft as a Day 2 talent.

Strengths
  • Highly coveted physical and athletic traits.
  • Explosive leaper with long arms and tremendous straight-line speed.
  • Legitimate ball-hawking talent with 12 career takeaways.
  • Speed to stay in phase down the sideline.
  • Recovery speed jumps off the tape.
  • Shadows and crowds any outside release.
  • His leap and length create challenging high-point roadblock for receivers.
  • Spies the throw and will overlap his coverage to make plays on the ball.
  • Uses long arms to tag and separate from blocks in space.
  • Accelerates through targets and wraps up as a tackler.
Sources Tell Us

"This is the guy that a lot of scouts are talking about because of his long arms and how he's going to test. There are teams out there who will draft him on that alone and barely even care about the tape!" -- Area scout for AFC team

stokes at 44, next round get KJ BRITT, then we better draft Robert Rochell.< HE will push Jourdain Lewis hard.

That’s a great time for Adebo. I don’t know I think round 2 might be the sweet spot for the position.

Corners I like that could go in that range:

Adebo
Stokes
Newsome*

*I think Newsome is likely to go in the backend of R1

Guys I’m not enamored with taking in R2:

Melinfolwu
Campbell
Molden
