depending...probably not. natural movement helps blood flow which is important to that healing. as long as the bone was repaired correctly...its actually probably best he use it.

Adds micro-motion as well...in addition to the use of a bone stimulator, which seems more than likely in this case. Weight-bearing exercise is best for building bone density. As long as he isn't in "practice" mode, he should be fine. You don't necessarily want muscle and tendon strength to atrophy in the foot-ankle area. This would likely complicate a full return to "elite" status this year. As long as prudence is exercised, I see it as a plus.

Ohhhhh was it initially a 10 week healing timeframe?

Lol

I don't really care. I think Dez and overrated and dumb are becoming synonymous..... And I like Dez.

He had a chance to be Irvin/focus-like... Instead he is out their smiling... Dropping balls.... Getting taken out of games for entire first half's... Sometimes for most of games.

Overrated? I think his touchdowns should speak for themselves. You just lot all credibility to me. Sorry dude. 56 touchdowns that short of a time frame and hes over rated?

I hear ya... It's not just a stats thing for me.
Irvin pointed it out too.

He could be doing more. The intangible things... The smarter things..

I always wonder what sort of trauma breaks the 5th metatarsal. I mean.. that's a pretty obscure place near the outside of the foot. Did someone step on his foot? Did he come down on it at an angle that caused this? Did it happen while route running? Crazy questions but I am very curious as to how it happened. If anyone has any video of the play that caused this, please share. Thx.

I'm sure it's out there, but I'm also unsure when it happened.

Ummm, you shouldn't tell a horse to stay...more like, "easy girl (or boy)"!

Our Colorado horses take everything literally. They think "easy girl" means I'm talking about a girl that is easy to get in bed. :muttley:

It's hard to say. If you watch the video a few times his foot takes an odd angle at one point in his steps and his body is hunched over. That's a lot of weight while running and turning at thr same time. At first I thought maybe his foot hit the players helmet. I don't think that's the case.

DALLAS (The Fan)Dez Bryant and I visited this morning near the Dallas Cowboys weight room , where he noted, “Things are going perfectly. My foot feels great. Feels like it’s healing great.’’

Bryant underwent a procedure to repair the fifth metatarsal in his foot, leading to all-over-the-map speculation about his return for the All-Pro receiver.

Sources tell me it’s a “super-aggressive approach” designed to speed healing, prevent a re-break, and have him back in six to eight weeks following thesurgery …and Bryant is nothing if not “super-aggressive.’’

“Yes, I want to come back faster than people expect,’’ Dez told me. “That (errant speculation) motivates me.’’

I was wondering how the hell Dez used the term "errant speculation" until I saw the parentheses.

It's good that Dez "feels good" about his progress. I just hope he doesn't 'feel good' right back to square one.

It's not uncommon for young studs like Dez to think they're bulletproof but it can oftentimes cause problems.
