CBS is making a strong push to add Romo to their broadcasting team

It is not a personal attack..........the Romosexuals can be so sensitive around here... Romo is a punchline around the league

If Romo is a punchline around the league, why are teams going to give up draft picks for him?

Haven't you argued in virtually every thread on this board how Dallas needs to do what is good for Dallas and forget about doing right by Romo and trade him for picks?

So if he is a punchline around the league as you say, why would any team offer up picks?

Aren't you the guy saying we should get picks for Romo and not give him away?

Now you are saying that Romo is a joke outside of Dallas?

So that begs the question, if Romo is a joke outside of Dallas, why would any team be giving up picks for him? Please explain.
Nobody is. The people that are saying we will get any pick of substance for Romo are clueless unless a significant window opens. That window is presently closed and locked.

it is the difference between Joe Lunchbox as a fan and his perception of Romo versus a GM that knows what a quality QB is

I am not saying Romo is a joke as a QB but his reputation is not good and I don't see him as a big TV draw

As a QB he is far and away the best option out there and that includes Draft picks

It is very nuanced and may be above your guys pay grade

And also Romo never played like Montana in the playoffs or even a win and in game. That is the point you're missing.

Romo did nothing special in the 2014 playoffs either.
it isnt the qb's same thing with dak, he lost to GB. was it his fault?
No it is the coaches fault, same results with 2 different good qb's, and same coaches.

Carr was a top corner under romeo crennel, but here he was ordinary, so was it carr or the DC ?

Carr wasn't the top corner on KC when we signed him five seasons prior to this one.

then why did dallas sign him for 50 mil ??
he was highly regarded at the time.

He wasn't even the best Brandon in that Chiefs' secondary.

As for the $50mm, it was going rate. Ask Lardarius Webb or Cortland Finnegan. You overpay for starting talent in FA. That's the whole reason we don't do large deals anymore under the current regime.

so do you think marinelli is a better DC than Romeo ??

Not necessarily. But we're getting pretty far afield here. The point was that Carr was always only considered a 'good' CB. One we paid market rate for five years ago on a deal everybody knew paid a premium at the time.

not really my point was that a player can only excel with the right coach, and a coach can help or hinder a player.

Marinelli, like I guess most NFL oc/dc's are "system" coaches, they develop or believe in a system and then they make
players fit into that system.
I think it is better to look at the players you have, and design a system for those players.
Some coaches will adapt to the players they have more than others.

Carr was a solid CB in both systems. We paid him like he was a difference maker, and he was not, but there was no coaching issue with him in either KC or DAL.

Marinelli also did adapt his coverages a fair amount given the guys with press ability he's had in Dallas up until now. We'll see what types of DBs he brings in now as replacements and how that works out this season.
