CBS is making a strong push to add Romo to their broadcasting team

Actually, he brought up Flacco's supporting cast. You responded by confusing team accomplishments with QB accomplishments.

Go look at Flacco stats during that run. He was amazing.

Yeah UFC, he did. He was unbelievable - the perfect example of being in the zone, the problem is he never could get back to that zone.

I agree. But nobody can take away his individual accomplishments during that run. That man earned that ring. He was a champion when it mattered most. Romo has never done that.

Not a fair comparison with Dilfer. Dilfer was carried to the superbowl by one of the best defenses OF ALL TIME.

Agree.

But again and we have been going back and forth on this for years, but Tony never had the defense the Ravens had nor has any team ever won a SB with a bottom ten Def Pass Rating. We averaged 28th for the past ten years while the Ravens were 3rd. Heck, even in the 2009 run we were 20th.

I would also point to GM Jerry Jones vs GM Ozzie Newsome during those years.

The real question is could Romo have got us to a Super Bowl and 2014 showed us he absolutely could and that defense wasn't exactly Doomsday either.

You just don't like the criteria by which QBs are judged

I notice you didn't list all of Romo's awards and single season records and league leaders titles

4 ProBowls and a pretty good Passer Rating

You do realize that Flacco would have 0 rings on our sorry teams then.

Also, Romo did have a better than pretty good passer rating.

What we don't realize is how much we sucked around him. Just hoping we can make up for it now, although its looking pretty sad right now with our offseason.

Joe Flacco would have had multiple 4-12 or 5-11 seasons:laugh:
Zero chance hed come close to sniffing a SB on Dallas teams that Romo played on.
No chance
And though we cant prove it, the same applies to Eli...imo.

he only led the league once and that was with an 1800 yd RB

When is leading the league bad. Murray was great, but our D wasn't.

You know what I'm saying, Flacco did have a great run no doubt. But he had support, Romo never had that.

Gotta see that our team wasn't good enough then, nothing wrong with seeing that.

yes but troy didnt go straight to major network show, he started in radio to get experience in calling games.
It would depend on what he winds up doing.
Troy went straight to FOX for the 2001 season, working with Dick Stockton and Daryl Johnston.

I don't like judging individuals by team accomplishments, you're right. That's because I've played on teams, so I know the difference.

Nobody with any credibility disputes Romo's ability to play QB in the NFL. They may doubt his ability to stay in the lineup, but that's another story.

And also Romo never played like Montana in the playoffs or even a win and in game. That is the point you're missing.

Romo did nothing special in the 2014 playoffs either.

Don't feel the need to make a thread so I'll just dump this here.

Houston is really only a QB away. They have a great coaching staff and a heck of a defense. Romo could easily put them over the top if he remains healthy. If he goes there and remains healthy, I pick them to represent the AFC in the Superbowl.

No doubt. I wasn't disputing that, and I remember it well.

That team was more than Joe Flacco.

My point is this. Flacco played like Montana in that playoff run and no turnovers. Rome has never played like that in the playoffs. Flacco RAISED his level of play from the regular season to the playoffs. Romo never has.

Romo's 11th all time in terms of career playoff passer rating. Ahead of Flacco and only slightly behind Montana. And his career playoff rating is higher than several of his regular season ratings.

Flacco went on quite a run. Nobody disputes it. He still doesn't get a Superbowl win if it weren't for the rest of that team around him. That's how it works.

And you don't compare Romo's playoffs to a statistical anomaly and conclude Romo comes up short because he can't outperform it. You compare his play in the playoffs to that of other QBs across the board, and see he actually outperformed a lot of them. And still lost. Usually because his defense sucked.

Tony Romo wouldn't add one viewer to a TV broadcast.....he is pretty much a joke outside of DAL..... I'm sure CBS is just worried sick about signing a guy that absolutely no experience for their AFC games

Aren't you the guy saying we should get picks for Romo and not give him away?

Now you are saying that Romo is a joke outside of Dallas?

So that begs the question, if Romo is a joke outside of Dallas, why would any team be giving up picks for him? Please explain.
