I'll argue with people I think are wrong. I think your "interpretation" of what Devaney said was wrong. He didn't say Garrett helped create it. All he said was his opinion didn't change of him even though Dallas struggled. Sounds to me like he didn't blame Garrett.

sounds to me like he felt the whole team including Garrett struggled

but that he liked him enough as a coach to overlook that, hence his opinion not changing

and it's obvious Garrett impressed him in his interview, that probably played a part too

Then you said ........... which wasn't what I said at all, which led to my comment about you laying all of the blame at Garrett's feet. It was as if you were saying that if I didn't think Garrett was completely to blame, then everyone else was, which isn't what I said.

but I don't lay all the blame at Garrett's feet for our struggles, he was one of the main culprits though IMO

Sorry but a coach that front offices think is responsible for a team's underachieving do not get multiple interviews for HC positions.

Obviously he doesn't think it is crappy if he's interviewing him and getting this close to hiring him as the head coach.

And the fact he has ties to Garrett means he probably has a better perspective of exactly what Garrett's offense is and how he is at coordinating it than you do.
