Cbz40 Post Game Thread | Dallas Cowboys 10 Denver Broncos 17 FINAL

I'm starting to think Tony Romo will never win a playoff game - I sometimes wonder how Tony's mentality would be different had he not fumbled that snap against Seattle. He would have had that elusive playoff win, maybe even hailed as a clutch QB for bringing his team down the field and leading them to victory on the road in the final minute.

I often have wondered the same thing about Danny White. What if Kurt Petersen doesn't get bulled over in the 1981 Championship Game and Danny hits a wide open Tony Hill for the dramatic game winning TD. I think we would have beaten Cincy in the Super Bowl and Danny is a hero.
Just wondering

i am laying both defeats at the feet of garrett.this guy is too smart for his own good .he should have realized a long time ago that we dont have the players for some of his crazy plays.he should run more high percentage plays ,instead he is directly responsible for 2 losses.

As I have said before, Romo is a good QB, not a great one. The real problem is poor coaching. They expect too much from Romo. They wonl't stay with the run long enough. There was no reason to keep throwing when we had a 3 point lead. Using the clock would have been more useful than expecting Romo to throw downfield.

Why would any coach taunt Champ Bailey -- one of the best defensive players ever. Sam Hurd was not the call at the end of the game -- How about the sure handed Jason Witten? Hurd against Bailey was a low percentage option, so JC and Wade went for it and lost.

This will be a completely wasted season with Wade in charge. I expect 7-9 or at best 8 -8.

Aren't you suppose to get the ball to your playmakers in crunch time?

This team isn't going to go too far without a coaching change or an ownership change. We know the latter isn't happening, so we hope for the former.

Before you guys start jumping off bridges, consider the positives from today:

a) We proved that Roy 11 was worth 3 picks and that the current crop of receivers can certainly get the job done. It obviously was TO's fault as can be seen by the HUGE passing numbers and their ability to be on the same page that our guys are,

b) Wade style of coaching breeds champions! Why be hard on players like Cower, Billichick (sp), Coughlin, even how McDaniels treats his players. Being their friend certainly gets solid results,

c) Romo is one of the leagues top "clutch" qbs. He had 3 turnovers against the Giants, made adjustments and only had 2 today,

d) Fundamentals are overrated. Tackling, lining up right, being in the proper position are over blown. Simply by putting big names out there we can be successful. Who cares that they lost. So did other 1/2 the other teams in the league,

e) Jason Garrett's stock is still very, very high. How could it not be? He is one of the top offensive minds in football as has been evident by the 3 year decline in production. Baltimore lost out when he turned them down. And those other 6 teams that have rejected him. What do they know,

f) Bobby Carpenter is solid. I think enough is said here,

g) Campo has this secondary coached up. We were only 27th in pass defense coming in, and did you see how tight the safeties and corners were on that last play. They even ran in to each other offering support,

h) There was no need to dump Bruce Read last year. Special teams is so overrated. They are the one bright spot on this team and we are 2-2. last year were we 9-7 so nothign much was gained,

i) There was no need to make a change in Head Coach because he will change. How can this be more evident than by the leadership he shows on the sidelines. I cannot recall a single time when Wade doesn't look like a leader of men out there!

j) Our players are mentally tough. No doubt they can overcome adversity much like NE had to last year as is evident by how they beat a very bad Carolina team at home.

See, there are positives. This is not the end of the world. Super Bowl here we come!!!

I think I fogrot to mention that that playoff drought is sure to end this year. Emmitt had us at 7-9. I think 5-11, or 6-10 is within our shot and that certainly puts us in prime position for a wild card.

Yeah, Roy "Overrated" Williams had a couple of nice catches.

So what?

Talk about inconsisent!

Now he is supposedly hurting.
Right.
More like pouting because, believe me, he wants the ball on every passing play. Anything short of that is a personal affront. Won't be long before he starts pouting big time.

This overrated, overpaid and over-compensated-for receiver is at best, a lesser version of Miles Austin, except Austin is more talented.

Give me hurd, give me Austin, give me Crayfish or give me Ogle. Just don't give me Roy "Overrated" Williams. I am tired of his no-shows, his inconsitency and the reminder of how much we gave up for this barely average WR.

Cowboy fans deserve better!

Roy was open a plenty place your anger at Romo and understand HE lost this game and the Giants.

3) While our defense certainly not be held responsible for today's loss (they actualy played well), they do not normally step up when the game is on the line. They basically didn't give up a TD all game (Denver's first was on our offense), they give up a huge play to eventually lose the game. It's painfully obvious we only have two playmakers on defense (Ratliff and Ware) and Ware is average right now.

6) Even though we've ran the ball well this year, our staff didn't have the stomach to stick with it today. Denver was playing good defense, but we just don't have the patience or stomach to continue pounding the ball unless things are going well.
.

These are the two things that I find to be the most frustrating. It seems to happen all the time. I guess there's just something about the 2-minute offense that our defense just can't handle.

And with regards to the running game, I realize that not having Felix hurt us, but I feel like we did kinda give up on the run. I was loving what I was seeing from Barber at the beginning of the game... not sure what happened to that.

My guess is his mechanics have been adjusted. I remember reading that he went to a more overhand throwing motion. His accuracy just isn't good right now.

The guy has had a total of one good season. He was mediocre BEFORE he got injured last year. Finished the season mediocre "because of his injury", and picked up right where he left off this season.

I wish him the best of luck because I want the Cowboys to win, but I'm officially waaaaaayyyyy off the band wagon until he proves that he's more than JAG.

Nope, Jerry Jones doesn't fire Head Coaches during the season.

We are stuck with Wade Philips to the bitter end, no matter what happens.

What sucks is we are 2-2 and have only played 1 Division Game.

Yep. There's no way Jerry was going to bring Wade back only to fire him in mid season. Once he didn't get fired following the 44-6 disaster to end last year, then there's no way he'll get fired during a season.

Jerry.is.just.that.dumb.

"44-6 loss to end the year, I've just got to bring Wade back for more of that."

We just put Denver on the map, now they will be taken serious :banghead:

Who cares? We're not taken seriously, and can you really blame anyone for not taking us seriously?

Warren Sapp said it best. Punch this team in the mouth and it folds.

I will continue my Jerry Jones is the TRUE cancer campaign.

He hires a power house, but washed up coach in Parcells' to make the fans feel good. It doesn't work out, so he basically says to the fans, I ain't hiring someone stronger or more popular than me anymore, we've already done it your way.

So he'd rather have a coach that kisses up to him just because the 1 time he does it, it doesn't work? HOw about do it forever JOnes? Keep hiring the best, not just the guy that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.

The campaign should be, remove Jerry and let the son's take over.

Why would anybody give up after 4 games.

Like I said, only the fans that were part of the "Cowboys are the class of the NFC" Club are the ones that are ready to give up.

Again, we are 2-2 and our only losses have come against teams that haven't lost a game this year and we were in it the entire game.

We are a mediocre ball club but there is still time to right the ship.

The bad news, Wade Phillips is our Head Coach.

I think if we go 6-10 Jerry has to take a loooooong look at himself..Right!?

My main concern is the coaching staff. They're probably the worst coaching staff in the NFL right now. It's hard to put trust in them, but I am hoping they'll get their act together and Jason Garrett will make better decisions.

Just relax, guys. We'll bounce back even stronger than before.

I wholeheartedly agree. Think how we overcame adversity last year losing Romo for 3 games. This staff just hasn't had a chance to hit their stride over the past 3 years. They need time to gel. Our GM is awesome so I am not worried.

That's not true though. I hate to just pull out stats, but he has been a good QB since he replaced Bledsoe. Right now though? He's not.
